not as problematic as its gonne be in over the next few years where if one class is bad the entire race suffers or there’s 20 percent of the playerbase all trying out the same class.
I was a little taken aback when I saw they could only be one class. But seeing them in action, and how they talked about them, it’s clear they were designed to be synergistic with class and race. It isn’t just a race. It’s a class.
I honestly don’t think it would fit the dragon theme for them to use weapons like all other races from a lore perspective. But more importantly I think the race would be to powerful with some class combos with what they have shown so far. They would have to tone down the race to the point it is a human with scales and wings that can’t even buffet properly.
Yeah, I figured that they’d be the only race that could be the new class, and that’s fine, but I’m pretty sad that I won’t be able to play a warrior, rogue, mage Dracthyr.
How can’t they be warrior. You pick up a sword and fight that is the essence of a warrior. No magical BS
Because they were literally created to be magic casters by Neltharion. It’s why they’re thin and skinny.
But that doesn’t mean they can’t be a warrior? Again look no further then gnomes they can be a warrior. And the name gnome need I say more?
Hey fair enough ![]()
But that doesn’t mean they can’t be a warrior?
Clearly it does.
makes sense lore-wise tbh, if you’re a Drac’thyr and your people are all evokers why would you downgrade yourself to a mere warrior/rogue/hunter/mage?
That’s a subjective opinion. TBH I enjoy the race / class locks. It makes the game world more diverse and consistent, culturally and logically. I would have liked more strict regulations, i.e. no lightforged DKs, nelf mages, etc.
why not monk? dracthyr brewmaster would be great
Yeah, I disagree. I’m all for letting players make the character they want to make.
Fewer restrictions and more things we can use to do so would be great.
We’re super special as it is, so having restrictions for the player characters doesn’t make sense.
Warrior, Paladin, Priest, Mage, Shaman, Warlock, maybe Hunter. Not Rogue, though.
- Warrior
- Hunter
- Rogue
- Mage
why would a dracthyr that can evoke the powers of all the dragonflights want to be anything else
why would a dracthyr that can evoke the powers of all the dragonflights want to be anything else
Maybe they’re not very smart and just want to hit stuff with a stick.
i cant argue with that
It’s really frustrating to have such an awesome race and only have it be one class. Please let it have other options ! Evoker looks neat, but more options is better! You’ll have more folks wanting to play.
why would a dracthyr that can evoke the powers of all the dragonflights want to be anything else
That’s kind of like asking why a human would want to be anything other than a doctor, lawyer, or businessman. Maybe some of them are blacksmiths that take up the sword. Maybe some of them are hunters that provide meat for the brood and are just adept at a bow. Maybe some of them are sent to spy on the half-giants or other dragons. Maybe some of them are more innately attuned to arcane energies.
We simply don’t know what their culture is, and there are plenty of easy reasons to give them cultural niches/desires to be other classes.
Agree. I personally prefer melee classes and I hardly do anything other than tank in PvE, and the fact that we can only be spellcasters feels extremely limiting. Honestly if I cant tank with these DRAGONS, which should be big and powerful, I’m sticking with my death knight thanks.
I mean apart from the mandatory 2 tanks (probably monk/warrior or dk), 1 priest, q shaman, warlock optional melee monk/warrior/dk, 1 mage, every other slot could be dragons
