It’s crazy that after waiting 5 years and enduring 3 separate classic fresh + changes server launches that we are being deprived of a fresh no changes relaunch.
I’m really sad. This is probably the biggest let down for me in my entire 20 year history of playing the game. My heart actually dropped when I started reading the changes. I just don’t get it. We did SOM we did SOD we did hardcore. Some people just want vanilla, The original game or at least as close as we can get. We just want a refresh. I don’t care if it’s a low pop server. I just want to play the original game without changes that alter the meta.
At this point it feels like I have to give up. Like 5 years later how is this possible? How much longer can I wait for vanilla?
People are going to try to gas light me. Tell me to go back to era. Whatever. We all know what happens next. People are already asking for it. More changes. This isn’t vanilla. This isn’t a re release of the game I love. It’s a bastardization of something that was actually great. It’s devs that are literally butchering the greatest mmo to ever exist because of a bunch of people who sit on Reddit and forums and complain while they are logged into SOD.
You just have to realize that they never intended on letting classic players have classic. It was just to milk them and experiment how much they could get away with so they would have something to offer retail players mid retail season.
So we’re just seeing that progress slowly over time. It’s going to get worse, so we might as well anticipate it.
No that was 100 people making different posts, thats different than you changing characters and making 100 posts.

Nice try I already saw like 5 different posts from people with thousands of forum posts today alone. I think I can make a second tangential post if I want. But seeing the types of comments u guys on the other side of the arguement are making I wouldn’t be surprised if u guys brigade and spam report me. Because u guys are clearly trying to silence opposition to the changes.
is sad for the fans who always fight and drive to get to points like this just to be given a big sabotaging like this last minit seems small and reasonable now but we all know what this means

I guarantee you that the new fresh servers will pop off even more so now with these changes. I honestly don’t understand how these changes hurt you, lol.
They also won’t absorb the whys of how “Go to Era” is a bad solution. It just gets said like a broken record.
I’m not disappointed this time because the X post Blizzard made when they closed CB made me realize that this dev team does not care about the type of player who makes this game healthy. They stated that they are more worried about upsetting the guy who gets livid over not being able to find a group, NOT the community-minded players. Had that post not happened, I may have been more annoyed because I’ve been waiting for a long time too.
… but I wanted to reply to say I get where you’re coming from, as someone who wanted another fresh like Classic 2019 (which was A LOT like Vanilla to me and I played Vanilla the whole way starting at release).
The replies prove that many of the people who come here aren’t here to be nice, or debate their alternative viewpoints in a healthy way. They are only here to be rude in a non-constructive way. This stuff can be flagged as trolling if there’s no real substance. That’s what I’m going to do, the more of this that gets cleaned up, the better the forums are.
