DKs should get frostmourne because it enhances some of the players Role Playing experience. It would just be a Transmog so has no impact on gameplay.
I do not see the problem with this. It is a reasonable ask. This is a solid W for blizzard. The only people who would be mad about the are the same people who were mad about the feldrake drop they are unreasonable and should nerve be reasoned with.
And yes I know what the frost artifact is so don’t try and use the gotcha Andy.

It would also harm some players role playing experience to see every DK on their server with the same one-off sword that was destroyed several expansions ago.
Was a huge oversight to not at least offer the original sword to those who completed the mage tower or hidden appearance.
I don’t see how you can get the ASHBRINGER OR DOOMHAMMER just for showing up as a pally or shammy, but Frostmourne is off limits.
Atiesh and Corrupted Ashbringer should’ve came back with old Naxx. I don’t understand the hills these devs like to die on.
Remember when we couldn’t transmog legendaries because everyone would do it? Well I rarely see them being transmogged.
And I group those people in with being unreasonable. It’s not different than seeing ashbringer all over the place.

All of these are major lore items on the same level as frostmourne. And don’t even start to gotcha Andy me on the frost artifact. I don’t even have a DK I would play but any excuse you would use for game breaking immersion is out the window with the small list above.

Here’s a thought, let DKs get frostmourne, but because it’s corrupt, first you reforge it into “The Sword of Wills” and make it gold and geometric. That’ll be popular af.

Since I’m not big on lore, I don’t really care - thought I’d take a rework of the Shadowmourne quest to not suck so bad when solo at 70 on DK alts over getting Frostmourne for DKs.
While we’re at it, I’ll just add some spice to the mix and say I’d like some color variations too, Unholy green and Blood red. Not restricting appearances to the specs, just different options available.
I support adding a Frostmourne as an obtainable weapon. Even if it’s just a transmog. It was dumb that instead of reforging Frostmourne in its entirety, we instead just take a couple shards and make a pair of 1-handers all because Blizzard decided to force Frost DK to dual-wield one-handers.
Seems like your complaint came aprox 7 years too late dude.
I honestly think Frostmourne would make a great Mage Tower-style reward for DK’s to pursue, like “run this super-difficult content to show complete mastery of the entire class”. Maybe you have to beat all three Mage Tower bosses as a Death Knight, and maybe a little quest-chain to involve some Shadowlands lore, or maybe even giving some kind of use for the DK-only ring from the Anduin fight.
Even better if it could unlock both the old-school Wrath model and the revamped Legion model as options.
they’ll allow all races to be Druids (as well as Shammys and Palys…and probably Demon Hunters too) eventually. some are saying with the recent ties to the “Emerald Dream”, its likely to happen sooner, rather than later, but who knows honestly?
i’d say probably within the next two expansions, we’ll see all but maybe 1 or 2 classes that’re still restricted to certain races.
Lorewise - back in Legion, we were told to get a few pieces of Frostmourne to build the frost DK artifact. If we got too many we would become corrupted, so not possible.
It’s not something that was ever intended to actually be made in the first place. It was an idea one of so many the Primus had floating around in his CPU because that’s his job and the jailer plucked it out with a usb cable. It shouldn’t be remade. It was never supposed to exist. Look at what it caused. Even presented with the option id never want it on my dk.
