Anduins not exactly someone that is a player. He says he wants to marry for love. Even though he acknowledges his responsibilities as king.
He goes under cover in the books to go to a bar and destress. Well there he flirts with a cute peasent girl but feels guilty. Since he can’t actually do anything with her. Because shes below his social station.
Meaning the social politics of his kingdom is a factor on his mind. We know he and valeera are extremely close. It wouldn’t shock me if she became a mistress.
The thing is in wow lore hybrid races are generally taboo. Theres not many inter racial couples so i would bet anduin needs a human women to be queen.
Alleria and turulyon are legendary heroes. And even their kid gets flack for being a hybrid.
Anduin on paper is fine character. But “high king” idea did a lot of damage to the alliance story, and Anduin’s story arc so far really goes against the frequently mentioned by Ion “faction are the core”, as he is not really that concerned with his faction or his nation.
It’s a character who is hard to relate to [personally], whose ideas prosper because the devs suffocate all other options. Seems artafficial and undeserved.
So, I would be glad if he just leaves the scene. Be it “riding into the sunset” with Sylvanas, Baine, or whoever else - inconsequential.
Do not know much on topic, only that supposedly the usual author of his story was rather defensive when asked such question. Which makes it all rather suspicious. Why would supposedly progressive person suddenly be defensive because of the mere possibility of this being the case?
Anyway, whoever saves the alliance from Anduin - don’t care, as long as it happens.

I don’t think Anduin is gay — he’s repeatedly expressed interest in women.
Though he could be bi. I mean Baine literally gave Anduin his horn.
If Golden wanted to write a bi Anduin ---- he and Baine are right there(assuming they both survive Shadowlands)
I’ve always seen Baine as the Uncle Tom of the Horde. It’s less about sexual attraction and more that he’s an Alliance sympathizing bootlicker.

If Anduin becomes gay, some of them will start whining for a major lesbian character or a non-white human who’s a major character, then a human woman of color who’s a major character after that.
If they want to put these characters in the story in a way that’s organic, they’re welcome to do so. Having female, ethnically diverse or non-straight characters isn’t bad in and of itself. But doing it to appease ideologues is a bad idea because it’s virtue-signaling, usually fake and I’ll sum up the ideologues with a quote of Nuada from Hellboy 2, “Greed has burned a hole in their hearts that can never be filled. They will never have enough!”
