Lemix Bonesteed bait n switch

You’re thinking of the skin.

Skin =/= skeleton/rigging/weighting/etc./whatever

There are mounts that share the same skeleton as them, and are able to fly.

I think we all agree the lack of communication and clarification was bad on Blizzard’s part, and at the very least, horses swimming through the air would have kept people calm.

No I’m not.

You are, however much you don’t want to believe it or will deny it.

Carry on as you will, though, I got better things to do than make a horse lead to water drink.

Also, their cheek…

“Convinced several horse mounts that they cannot actually swim in the air.”

On a Hotfix post from October 24th, is not the way to go about this misstep.

It’s insulting.

The Bonesteed model was part of the updated pvp mounts. Raptors, cats, turtles, etc. were all given new models.

As it… walks, and not flies, to the water?

I hope that’s the common ground we all have. Communication is just terrible and has been for quite some time.

I’ve said it before, I still purchased them because I collect. It would have been cool to have them fly. Hopefully they give that to us with the correct graphics.

Leave it to Blizzard to spit in the customers face because they think they are untouchable.

And I have no issue whatsoever with it.

Never took it as insults to my own skills.

All I asked for is to not insult people for no reason. Constructive criticism even if it’s harsh - good. Straight up insults - no.

Not really. I don’t like it because it’s just insults. I have no problem with proper criticism.

If bluepost is not enough for you, what is?

Developing a game is no easy job, mistakes happen, even more in projects this big.

I cant even imagine how much effort it takes to keep it stable for most part.

In the many states, it is literally against the law not to honor posted pricing.

They must sell it to you as priced. Period. If they advertise or scan it for 1 cent, that’s on them, not the consumer. This is assuming that it’s the listed price, not a direct scam. (AKA, moving barcodes is a scam, they don’t have to honor it. But if they accidentally list something for a nickel, you’re gonna get it for a nickel.)

Stores are allowed to check, but they cannot alter the price after you pull it off the shell.

It DOES depend on the state, so your state may not have any regular, but it’s very rare that any major business makes a habit of charging too much, or not the advertised price. Just wanted to clear this up. This can also get pretty extreme. Just because it’s a major mistake doesn’t mean they’re still not on the hook.

Some of you guys complain about anything.

Yes, that’s what this place is for…complaining.

This is not a new thing, it’s just what happens on the Internets.

You’re not seriously applying this to this situation, are you?

I haven’t been keeping up on this thread real well, but I do want to say this.

No jobs are easy. But you still expecting jobs you pay for to be done, right? That’s not an irrational expectation. That’s not being entitled.

If you buy fries at McDonalds, then don’t get fries, or get cold fries, or soggy fries, or anything really other than a reasonable amount of warm, fresh fries, you’re going to be annoyed.

Don’t lower the standard because it’s a video game, or a developer, or because of really any other reason. It’s their job. They should do it. If they mess up, it’s not okay to just say, “Whoops.”

You have to say “Whoops, our bad, let’s fix it.”

The CORRECT thing to do was to just give it a correct flying animation. It could fly, so leave it flying, but accept the mistake and pay for the dev time to do it.

But they didn’t want to do it.

And it took money.

So they didn’t.

That’s fine.

But it’s not GOOD.

It’s certainly not GREAT.

It’s bad customer service, it’s bad policy and it contribute to the constant atmosphere for players thinking Blizzard is lazy, greedy or doesn’t care, regardless of the truth.

No. Just clarifying the bit about people honoring barcode and advertised pricing. Not related to this, more just the mindset.

You are a customer.

A customer.

Your only concern should be “is this what I want or not” and not the creation of it or finding excuses for them messing up.

I sell you a car. The cars brakes don’t work and it doesn’t really accelerate to an acceptable limit. But it was really hard to make.

Viable for you to crash into the next tree, right?

I absolutely agree on this with you. I’m just saying that Blizz made a mistake, then fixed it and posted it in a blue post. They did what they should. This backlash is not warranted.

I can somewhat agree with people that demand Bronze back, because some were confused, but that’s about it.

New or used?

Wait, are you the dealer or the engineer in this scenario?

Well, let’s be clear about this.

What happened was Blizzard made a mistake that gave people MORE than Blizzard meant to give them. It was a bug, sure. But it didn’t break the game. It just took a thing and made that thing slightly cooler for people.

Blizzard removed the bug, reducing the value of the thing. They made a joke about it, which I get, but jokes are never funny when you’re taking something from someone, even if unintentional.

If a restaurant actually hands you a free appetizer that was meant for someone else… They simply make a new one. They don’t take it from you. Because it FEELS bad for the customer.

This feels bad. So people are allowed to get mad.

This has nothing to do with whether or not Blizzard broke some contract, or did something illegal. Clearly not.

But Blizzard made another decision they didn’t have to make that made people unhappy. Feedback on this makes sense to me.

Because, again, they had another, easy, obvious, clear option: Change the animation and let people keep their unexpected, cool thing.

People would be making threads about it.

Heck, they could have made a joke about it. Made it cool.

”Seems like we made these ground mounts swim, but only in the air. Whoops. To apologize for this blunder, we’ve fixed the flying animation to be actually flying, and added an additional swim speed to them, because clearly they really just want to swim!”

Boom.

Awesome mount, popular choice and probably a MINIMAL expense.

But nah. Just remove it. I get it, I really do. Dev time doesn’t grow on trees. Adding ONE more thing to someone’s plate can suck, especially this close to an expansion. But it is what it is.

Again, and for the last time, that ONE post proved absolutely nothing that you think it did. It was just a snarky insulting post by them aimed at us players. Yet you think they are above criticism, or what you call “insults”

Yet, this wasn’t just about “anything” I wonder, why are you in this thread? Obviously you don’t care about the issue being discussed.
