exactly, so it should be easy to just give players a bone(steed) and have them mailed the bronze back.
i’m essentially not going to let this go, and nothing you say will make me change my mind. best to ignore me if that upsets you.

Problem is that players will complain that a mount they bought and wanted is no longer in their collection.
Mount they were a recolor of is ground only, and tooltip never mentioned it being able to fly (the way all other flying mounts do), so it was obviously a bug.
If you’re not going to let this go, I’ll be ok to bookmark this the next time you complain about them not fixing a bug.
It’s not like they need custom animations when there’s a plethora of flying horse mounts already. Just use the same animations that the Ironbound Wraithcharger uses. And while they’re at it, they should let Midnight fly as well!
Yeah, it’d have to be a dedicated project to make it fit individual ground mounts, and I wouldn’t expect them to do that right now. Personally, I’d even say my first choice would be to make ground mounts more relevant. I enjoy Skyriding, but it does sort of pigeonhole Blizzard into a certain overworld design that prioritizes space over small details that were more prevalent in previous expansions.
Hey, I get it, but you and I didn’t agree with each other. I ignored you and then decided to take you off ignore to have that conversation.
I’ve watched everything that Lio has said be picked apart and sometimes just for kicks.
I don’t agree with everything that he says, but he’s right more often than not.
But, you do what you feel is best for you.
As someone who just does not gel with the aesthetic of DK horses that much, I don’t have much stake in whether they fly or not. But it seems like an obvious PR win for Blizzard to be like, “Hey, we didn’t intend for these to be flying mounts, but it was our mistake so we’ll just go ahead and give them the proper animation set.”
I mean, canonically they can fly, judging by the Horsemen. It seems like another arbitrary and stubborn decision, much like a lot of transmog restrictions or other cosmetic features. Also, flying horses are infinitely cooler than frostwyrms, and take up way less real estate on the screen.
Every single one of them.
This is a fantasy game. ![]()
Btw, it’s coding. The same coding they use for the other horse mounts can be applied to these. It’s not as hard as some are making it out to be.
I’m sure it was an oversight at some level, but one that went on for quite some time, and onto live servers for weeks without correction. None of this negates the fact that many players were, and are invested in these mounts. It is fantastic art, and they are far less compelling as ground mounts.
Items such as these are what makes Remix so exciting for players. These are cosmetics that we know we will value for years to come, and what drives FOMO. How are we to trust anything that we purchase is permanent? Why should we invest our time and interest? Why should we not be cynical about announcements if our investments (of excitement, drive) are treated this way.
Development is tough, testing is fallible, and players fickle, but if this was a bug it was a harmless one. Even the cost of the mounts is the same as other flying horses. Lighten up for God’s sake, and assign these attractive mounts to flight.
Please.
Beautifully put.
Bought all four of these, really glad they were flying mounts, to give some options to the “undead” mode characters.
Just saw a short vid where they patched them to ground mounts, and had to go back online to check. And yes. Bait and switch. I’d love to think Blizz would even hear about our disappointment and irritation, but I doubt they’d even look at this thread.
This right here is why I typically prefer horse mounts. Easier to see what’s going on around you and navigate around. My favorite mounts are the Paladin and Warlock class mounts. DK being my main for so long, I tended to use whatever flying horse shaped mounts were available. up until now I was using the Ironbound Wraithcharger since it somewhat fit the aesthetic for Frost, and Sinrunner Blanchy for Blood.
I was really looking forward to each flavor of these new mounts to fly, but I guess not. In the meantime I got the new Coursers in red and blue, so they’ll have to do.
We both know this is blatantly false. Lio is rarely right. They tend to cherry pick quotes then twist it to fit there narrative more often than not. Their most notable is the tbc flight threads where ion says a thing and they go “SEE HE SAID THE THING!”, completely twisting the context.
Then this thread is another example. They find something then just spam it.
Then we can jump to the barrage threads where they just rage at people and spam the thread to bump it.
Tbh I just like debating people and having conversations. Lio is one of the few where I know this is impossible so I chose to highlight their dishonesty and inflammatory posts instead.
You and me on the other hand may disagree, but we can have amicable disagreements.
I bought them because they were mounts I didnt have yet. I didnt even know they were capable of flying, at any point, until I saw this post just now.
Did you type this with a straight face?
Edit: Nm I remember now. You guys are buddies in the barrage thread and that’s why you’re saying that. Right so once you leave that bubble and you see how they talk to people on a regular basis, I would hope your eyes get opened then.
I would say yes. Ideally, you should feel nothing. It was a bug fix, its simply a “it is what it is” type situation.
It’s a pretty neutral situation that people are pretending is the end of the world because that’s where we are in modern society, every minor little thing is a DEFCON 1 level event.
Its tiring.
Sounds like a good discussion for the Legion Remix forum.
I mean really, as a company it’s kinda just expected, they put a product out, and did not deliver on the product, by common courtesy and good business practice, if nothing else… they should be held to their word on the product they promised to deliver, because this DID go live and get use, and was NOT understood to not be flying.
One can argue: “Well it had no flight animation, of course it isn’t flying!” but this is only something you could know from datamining via Youtube or from purchasing it and using it… one means the defective product was KNOWN and they did nothing, the other can only be hindsight and is equally a failure. Either way, the correct answer per proper etiquette is to followup and deliver the mount as was sold, as flying proper.
I really like the people wanting a refund on bronze.
That will disappear in 80-something days.
That they have nothing else to spend it on.
And they probably need the mounts anyways to hit the 500 achievement or something.
Or them sitting in their journal is a nothing burger.
And there’s also the fact that they’re probably like me and they’ve bought everything from the vendor, and I mean every thing, and they’re still at 2 million or more bronze banked.
I’d love to see one of these people try to take legal action over false advertising about a mount flying or not flying in WoW. Like I’m not interested in debating the sense in it, I’d just love to see it. That would be fun stuff.
