Lego Cost.. Its out of control

But I bet it’s doing wonders for token sales.

On my server Stormrage, those are going for 170K right now. :open_mouth:

At 2.5-3k a pop (average) for Korthite crystals - this is the vast majority of the cost.

It’s basically a 100k premium (at mat cost - so minimum) over what you were paying before.

The easiest way to have avoided this is by having made it such that, instead of Vestige of Origins being a crafting reagent, make it an upgrade item usable by anyone to bump up the runecarving itrm by two ranks. This allows crafters to continue making their profits off of the t4 gear (the actual investment, whether i like it or not) without, as one poster already stated, taking on the additional task of having to buy volatile Korthite and put a very niche item on the AH.

What I did was look at my server’s prices, figure out how much raw profit a crafter was making off a t4 runecarving sale, and then offered that much money plus mats for a t6 (this also saves them the AH tax, so its more attractive than it looks). I am fortune that my server is reasonably populated, but I got a crafter to make mine within two hours of copying the buy text into trade chat whenever i ran through Oribos on a reset day.

The Korthite crystal market will probably be about as successful as it is now for two more weeks. I’m just hoping I can sell the last of them without anyone undercutting, because I don’t think another scoop is worth it.

hopefully blizzard never does a legendary with a crafted component again.

it’s beyond stupid that we have to pay 200k (or more) to other players, or more than that over time leveling professions we may not even have, to have a legendary. Then compound that by needing/wanting multiple legendaries. dumb system is dumb.

the “currency drops, you buy the one you want” way it worked in late legion was ideal.

Part of the “problem” here is that people have not adjusted to gold inflation.

A daily calling, which is basically doing a dungeon or 3 world quests, grants about 2k. Korthite crystals go for 2k. Regular world quests give 250g.

100k gold is not nearly as crazy as it sounds. I’ve sent 210k to my bank Alt since 9.1 dropped and that’s all from daily callings, vendor trash, korthite crystals etc. I have not farmed herbs or ore for sale, I have not crafted anything for sale like enchants or potions or flasks.

And yes, I’m doing this on 2-3 characters, but I do not play them equally and I don’t play every day.

People need to relax.

I think that while the system could be executed better, the idea of having a slot or two come from professions is a good one. One of the biggest complaints about professions is how other than enchanting / alchemy most professions barely have any use for anyone but alts or transmog collectors. The legendairy system may not be perfect but it at least gives crafting proffs something only they can provide.

Mail piece by chance? Because those are gated by heavy callous hides and those hides suck hard to farm. That’s why there were skinning bots running around in places.

I got 235 legs recently for 28k but when I made my one balance pair, I paid 120k for them.

Materials cost for leather and mail sucks.

If you aren’t a mythic raider. I would stick to rank 4 for a couple more weeks. The price will come down. If you are a mythic raider than your guild should have a plan to either craft them or sell carries in order to buy them for their raiders.

I wish, they’re 800k on my server.

But it is totally a player related thing? Make it yourself if you can’t handle it.

There are base items that cost 500k at one point that are 100g now.

The price will drop.

Market is working, very high demand, limited supply, high price, people will put in extra effort to make more.

And eventually these will be cheap as well.

I remember when you first set of legendary mats came out for 9.0 and they where crazy expensive as well. By the end you could pick up level 4 parts for dirt cheap. I bought a couple just so in case I needed to move a legendary and didn’t have enough soul cinder to make the jump to level 6 yet.

That’s what I did.

I bought a rank 4 cloak for 3k a month or so ago since I was moving my legendary slot.

Leggos are cheeeep. You can get a Rank 1 leggo for a few hundred gold; Rank 2 for a couple of thousand gold; a Rank 3 for maybe 10-15k gold. That way less than it costs to make it. However, the higher the Rank, the more expensive the get. Why you ask? Because before you craft a Rank 2, you have to make something like 15 Rank 1s; and before you craft a Rank 3, you have to craft something like 15 Rank 2; and before you can craft a Rank 4, you have to craft something like 15 Rank 3s. And you have to be able to craft a Rank 4 to craft a Rank 6. That means the crafter has to do craft 45 items (at 5-15k gold each depending on the slot) to craft a Rank 6, taking huge losses on the lower ranked pieces they crafted. If you’re a blacksmith, multiply that x 8 for each slot you can craft. Blizz designed the system this way TO MAKE IT CHEEP for players to get leggos - just not the highest level leggos, which is where the crafters are trying to recover their investment.

Completely off subject but I keep thinking I need to roll up a new alt named Sweathog and save it just to respond to your posts…
