Say you walk into a restaurant that serves a great steak dinner for everyone, charging only the market rate for the ingredients. It’s open to the public, first come, first served, and communal seating.
You wait your turn, prepay, and finally get seated with some strangers. The server brings your plate and it looks amazing. But before you can even pick up your fork, someone else at the table (who was seated before you because they wore fancy shoes) snatches the steak, takes three big bites out of it, throws it back on your plate, and walks off.
The restaurant shrugs and mails you a napkin and the receipt.
When you complain, someone says, “So just eat your veggies.” Or, “Hey, there’s still a bit of steak left. Be thankful.” Maybe “If you want a good experience, buy fancier shoes.” Or, like you’d hear in this forum, “Who cares if it cost the same and takes much longer? Figure out how to make steak at home.”
The IP you get from bosses is minuscule. The fragmented momentos get mailed to you now and those are all that matter anyway. If you don’t like playing with overgeared people then just make your own group.
I am sorry I have no way of sharing a screenshot, but the Mementos of Epoch Potential (piles if IP and stamina) and Artifactium Sand have never been seen appearing in my mail nor in my activity log as having been received unless directly looted from a corpse. If they somehow apply invisibly, I would have no idea.
You seem to be ignoring the fact that the restaurant lets you choose your own table mates. The patrons are even required to disclose if they are capable of eating quickly.
I see my shoes aren’t fancy enough. Are you referring to Dungeon Finder where you just choose a role or Group Finder where you have to go shopping or the ingredients in your own kitchen?
We covered this, and so do Blizzard FAQs. If you have no threat on the boss or are too far away, you will likely get nothing from the boss. It’s a little forgiving though: My healers have frequently been able to just toss buffs or HoTs on the tank in the brief times they’re in range.
I was quite literally at the entrance of EN before first boss and still able to run through and loot ursoc, dragons, ect
So I didn’t tag, heal or nothing, straight up afk at the start, and they were going through portals killing bosses.. yet I was still able to go through after and loot

You either get loot or you don’t, it’s not a guessing matter. The loot is there for you to pickup whether you tagged or not. You just have to be inside the raid.
Solid attempt but you are missing the fact that the restaurant also accepts reservations for you and all of your friends or like minded individuals where you all agree to each eat your own steak and you don’t have to sit at the public table if you don’t want.
blizzard should just make a solo queue for group finder during remix events if they are going to put specific rewards from the daily run of them,same complaints as mop remix.
99% of people could and would solo them, but they are forced to group or not get the daily reward,which then leads to posts like these
We do a lot of arguing on these forums about forming groups. Like – for whatever reason, people struggle with it. The reason at this point doesn’t even matter. It’s a thing, people struggle with it, don’t like, whatever.
Wouldn’t it just make sense to do what most modern games do for multiplayer lobbies?
Some kind of tool that lets you group together and auto fil what you’re missing.. or que solo to end up with random people based on some MMR system.
It works for league.. WoW finally added it for PvP.
They could also make a que for people who just wanna 1v1 the content without a group.
Just seems like there is a pretty straight forward solution that already works for a lot of other games. That or we could talk about ways to improve the premade tool so that it makes more people happy. It’s not like improving the thing would be bad for anyone unless your goal is to make other people suffer with it lol.

The topic was simple: The best tool for finding quick groups (the one the game steers players into with Eternus quests and the best matchmaking tools) is being dominated by turbo tanks who sometimes go so fast that other party members without speed spells get left behind. Sometimes they’re just far enough to get killed by trash because the tank was lazy with threat. Sometimes they’re so far behind that they miss out on boss loot because they didn’t have any threat from the boss. This cannot be fixed before the end of Remix, but can we please get the IP tokens and bronze that are missed when the boss is soloed from too far away? We already get the items and Remix is too short for this change to cause any long-term problems.

Animagi and I disagree with how useful alternatives are. Epiclol thinks I should just suck it up because others suck it up. THAT IS FINE. They have the right to disagree and offer alternative ways of approaching this. There’s no reason to get this far off the track.
At no time did I say “suck it up” I said “make your own group”.
Stop being so dramatic. The other groups were made by other people, you can make your own group. It’s not some paid hidden feature. It’s literally there so you can make a group that fits with what you want. You want a slow group you make a slow group. You want a fast group you make a fast group.
Explain to me how you have to make a group instead of joining some random group is different? You still do the entire raid, you still get the loot, etc.

You talked me into it. Sorry for the long delay in responses but this took a while.
I wanted to recreate the goal I wanted to use Dungeon Finder for, so I created a Heroic Court of Stars run and titled it “Fun run WITHOUT OP solo tank” to signal what kind of vibe I was going for. I queued as a healer too, to help the group fill faster. In 30 minutes, I got one DPS signup. Then another, who immediately dropped. That was it. The group never formed. I did get a trolling, like this gem from a pandaren monk on Stormrage: “then go play retail lol”
Meanwhile, there’s no bonus loot for running this way. It doesn’t count for the Eternus Infinite Research quests for Group Finder. Non-intuitive tip: Once you create a listing, you can’t browse other groups the UI just says “no groups found” with no explanation. You have to delete your posted group to even see what others have posted. With dungeon or raid finder, you can queue for multiple things so you can jump into the first that becomes available.
So after I deleted my 30 minute ghost group, I saw maybe 9 other non-Mythic+ groups. Almost all were waiting for a tank, except one that was for a specific quest. So when I say the Group Finder isn’t a substitute for the automated Dungeon Finder, this is why. I tried. I wasn’t being lazy. It just didn’t work.
The whole reason Dungeon Finder exists is to match people quickly, automatically, and without the hassle of organizing a group. But in Remix, if the group you’re assigned gets dominated by a solo-speed tank, you lose out on bronze and IP even though you stayed and tried to participate.
And for the fifth (at least) time, I am not asking anyone to fix that. Retail has the same problem at times. I am only asking for the event currency/items (and IP tokens) that drop from the bosses be mailed to players who do not loot it directly from the boss. In the same way gear is mailed. Even the speed-run tanks would love that change.
Oh come on. Why are you doing a premade for dungeon finder? If you really want to do a dungeon, do M+. I’m honestly surprised you found that many people to apply.
Group Finder is for M+ and raids. Not LFR raids, by the way.
