Which dude? You mean the archmage who used to give you your hearthstone and the books that have been nerfed into grey items? Or the class hall emissary? He would pop on a 70, but what class hall would an evoker end up in?

And on my monk who hasnt done any part of legion
What level is that character? If it was happening prior to last Tuesday, that means at some point you talked to chromie and got the quest to enter Dalaran. Now it will pop on a 45+ regardless if you show up in Dalaran.

Okay, I am very confused by this discussion and have one question:
Has the introductory questlines to WoD (where we fight our way thru the jungle) and Legion (where we sail in and fight the Legion on the shore) been removed?
Because those contain important story beats.

As I described earlier, if a higher level character shows up in Dalaran, your class hall emissary will automatically show up now. It wasn’t like that previously.
I can’t test this. All my characters have skipped directly to their garrison. But since Chromie doesn’t give that quest anymore, I guess in effect it is removed.
Hope not, it was great xp, probably the best xp in the game

In this thread it seems to be a bug causing the problems, I think
I just ran into both of these (WoD and Legion) a couple of new characters. WoD I couldn’t skip but I actually don’t mind that one anyway (plus the xp is solid). For Legion, I had to select it in Chromie Time, then go to the stupid board and also pick broken shore there, then I was able to go to the first NPC in the Legion starting chain and click the “I have le done this before” option, which ported me to Dalaran to pick up a hearthstone.

edit…so I took WoD:The Dark Portal from the board and yeah…its letting me use the NPC, vanguard battlemage, downstairs in Org portal room.
When I took the quest from Chromie today for WoD, the VB wasnt doing anything, now she is.
Portal over by her, run over to the dark portal, drop the Dark portal quest then run thru the dark portal…it’ll skip everything up till youre about to enter your garrison
Just did it and it works.

took the legion one straight from the warboard…and IT WORKS!
NPC outside Org, handed me the dalaran skip and got my hearthstone.
Can confirm the one for Draenor is still there.
I used a lvl 10 bank alt and:
a) went to the Wizard’s Tower in the Mage Quarter of Stormwind
b) spoke to the Honor Hold Mage that stands at the bottom of the stairs with three other NPCs in a circle
c) he sent me to the Dark Portal site in the Blasted Lands
d) appeared next to Khadgar and spoke to him
e) accepted the quest, ‘Warlords of Draenor: The Dark Portal’
f) there was a cutscene of Khadgar and Thrall fighting their way into the portal
g) and !boom! we were in the starting area of the introductory questline to Draenor with everything still intact.
Cannot figure out how to check for the Legion one as I cannot remember the starting NPC for it but given this one hasn’t been removed, I am assuming the other one hasn’t either.
To clarify, it’s not the class hall that’s the trigger for the toy. It’s Krasus’ Landing. Once you’ve set foot in that circle, the toy will work.

Not on a low level. I summoned a level 12 to Dalaran who took that flight point and was flown to all the flight points in Azsuna. The quest did not pop. The quest popped when that character turned 45.
The original trigger for the toy was a sequence of the following quests:
- Chromie sent you to talk to a guy in your capital city.
- You talked to that guy, who gave you a choice of doing the Broken Shore scenario or the skip, if you had done that scenario at least once. He ported you to your choice.
- When you got to Dalaran, you were met by an archmage, who gave you the Dalaran hearthstone and a grey item that used to be used to change talents.
- After completing 3., your class hall emissary appeared.
Current sequence of events for a low level:
- You talk to Chromie, who gives you the quest to “return to Dalaran”.
- You have no way to get to Dalaran, as the portal doesn’t work for you.
- Even if you are summoned to Dalaran, the archmage does not appear. The emissary for your class hall does not show up to give you the quests that are required to open your class hall. You have no access to campaign questing, which starts in the class hall.
Current sequence of events for 45+:
- Take the portal to Dalaran.
- On arrival in Dalaran, your class hall emissary shows up and gives you the quest to begin your class hall. Also at this point you could take “Uniting the Isles” and open up the Broken Shore.
I went to the warboard at level 10 after changing to Legion time and the warboard gave me the quest for the starting scenario, now the problem is in the Broken Shore instance. Every time it says Find Tirion Fordring or whoever, the NPCs just bug out and stand there. I’ve tried 3 times and it always bugs out there, no way to continue it that I have found.
Decided to swap timelines cause it’s not worth the effort, guess I’ll go back at 45
Just rolled a fresh maghar orc…level 10.
Went straight to Chromie and tried the Legion start, but its the wrong one.
Deleted the quest…went down to the warboard and took the legion: The legion Returns and its the right quest with the NPC outside orgrimmar with the skip to dalaran.
So even a level 10 can do it with the quest from the warboard instead of Chromie, for now.
Had no idea this was happening, leveling an alt with my daughter yesterday, tell her let’s do Legion for the mage class hall, we get the quest, it leads us into the mage tower and right to the Valdrakken portal. Check the quest and it’s in Aszuna, but while in SW it wants us to go through Val portal, what the heck, lol. Of course the Aszuna portal doesn’t work. Brokennnnnn.

Same character…now with WoD.
Chromie gave me the wrong quest.
Took it from the warboard and its the right one where you go below in the Orgrimmar portal room and talk to the battlemage who ports you a bit away from the dark portal.
For the skip, once youre over outside the dark portal, delete the quest and walk thru th portal INSTEAD OF talking to Khadgar. Skips most of the Draenor intro
The Aszuna portal now has a minimum level of 45. Any 45+ player who takes that portal and flies into Dalaran will have the class hall entry quest pop at that point.

Yeah, just read your info above, just baffled how a fresh 10 is supposed to do the Legion questing through chromie time after talking to her. I’ll reread the info above for tips and try again tonight, maybe…if I can break myself away from Remix.
