I’m ambidextrous. For pcs I commonly used my right hand to for navigation and left for abilities, for console gaming it’s no different from anyone favors their right hand.
I just moved the mouse to the left side of my keyboard, it seems that I can do it, it just feels weird.
I use left hand wasd movement qe strafe Shift+combinations for a few abilites and the rest of the abilities are bound to the numbers like default however I have a muilt button mouse so the right hand can click all the same abilities. as a result I can swap which hand is doing which task as needed.
If I need to move with the mouse I can if I need to do the entire rotation with just the mouse i can. makes getting a drink/ eating without stopping pawsible ^-^
(left handed)
I use the mouse to move, and have all my keybinds on my left hand, on the keyboard. Here’s how it looks:
Action Bar 1:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Q, W, E, R, A, D, F
Bottom Left Bar:
ALT-1, ALT-2, ALT-3, ALT-4, ALT-5, ALT-Q, ALT-W, ALT-E, ALT-R, ALT-A, ALT-D, ALT-F
Bottom Right Bar:
SHIFT-1, etc, etc, you get the picture.
This is all possible because I move with my right hand alone, holding down both mouse buttons. I find this is a very effective way to play because you’re never not mouse turning, and that goes pretty fast. All that said, though, I’m right handed… I’m left-footed, though!
“I found out you can actually switch the button functions, from left handed to right handed, on your mouse. I don’t know how, my Husband did it for me, when he set up my second computer, when I had one. He made the right click a left click, and the left click a right click. It might be worth looking in to, for those of you, who are extremely left handed, with little, to no, right handed coordination.”
I’m left handed, but I play right-mouse.
My movement keys are the same, so Q,W,E,A,S,D.
Then I bind, 1-6, R, T, C, V, `, F1-F6 on left hand.
And then I bind Num 1-9, *, -, +, M4 and M5 on mouse.
So left hand controls movement, and 17 binds, and then right hand handles 14 binds, plus camera turning.
Edit - I also remapped R, T, C, and V’s basic keybinding functions to the arrow keys instead, so up-arrow is reply, left arrow is character pane, right arrow is nameplate toggle, and down arrow is auto-run.
I use my mouse for most movement. But have S&F for strafing. Do you not keybind strafing to your keyboard? Or do you have it bound to one of your mice buttons?
Sounds about what allot of people use. Prepare yourself…I write left handed, throw right handed, but can’t write right handed, and can throw left handed but it looks funny lol.
Anyways, wasd for my left hand. The only movement I have on left hand is strafe left and right A, D. I use my mouse to move forward (auto run) MB4. Combination of my spells are used with keyboard and mouse.
Spell buttons as follows:
QWERSFXCV23mousebutton5
Then I use shift as a modifier for same buttons, and then caps lock as a modifier.
Like most other Lefties: with the fires of climate change and health care for all fueling my in game murder spree!
Please don’t report me, it’s only a joke lol
Just to be clear I’m not actually a lefty, so this isn’t something I’m suggesting from personal experience.
However, some mice come with buttons on the side that you can use for strafing if you wanted to use the mouse exclusively for movement purposes. Otherwise, yes; I just use keybindings for strafing.
