“Left behind” anxiety

I would probably be in the 20’s if I were playing just one toon. I’m not though. I have an 11, a 10, a 7, a 5 and 2 I rolled and have not logged in yet. I know it will be quite a while before they are all a decent level (mount level -ish) I don’t mind. It’s what I expected.

I think you are doing well to be 20 and working full time. I’m home all day but I do other things as well, so a share of my time is parking somewhere I won’t get killed so I can tend to other things. People probably call it casual, but I feel like I need more arms.

There is no curve, there is no pressure for you to push to the end right way, that is the whole point of Classic. The game is in the leveling experience.

I can say with a good amount of confidence that if you level at an average, comfortable pace, you will be able to find a raid opportunity when and if they occur. Remember, raid groups are back to being huge now.

One doesn’t have to rush through retail either…

You’ll be fine. Trust me.

It took people 2 months to get to Level 60, in some cases 3-6 months back in 2005, and they still ended up joining epic raiding guilds.

Take your time, OP, and enjoy the level up. Explore and have fun, you can also rest satisfied knowing that the only endgame content available for the next few months is:

  • Onyxia
  • Molten Core
  • Maraudon

The way the queues played out kinda screwed a lot of people that wanted to push for server firsts. I get what you mean about the ‘left behind’ anxiety but you’re still ahead of the game at least.

Server Firsts are completely overrated.

Mainly because there is no achievement system in Classic WoW… All you get is yellow text broadcast server wide telling everyone what happened.

And that’s it.

And only the people currently logged on when you do it actually see it.

Yay?

Didn’t read the whole thread so someone may have already said something along these lines but in regards to not having a raid spot bc you were “too slow”, I didn’t start in vanilla until 1.10 on a pretty mild server and I had no trouble finding a guild to raid MC/Ony/ZG with.

The roll you want to play is going to decide how limited your raiding choices are moreso than how fast you level imo.

Just remember. The fun part about classic is Level 60’s can power run thru instances  I used to run people thru all the time. No scaling dungeons.

I’m level 8, got silly with leather and herb gathering

lol i’m 13 and feel fine. why would I want to hang with the speed boyz when I hate that style of play?

OP, relax man. I haven’t even logged in yet. I’m not going to bother till tomorrow or Friday. I knew there’d be queues and crowds, so I decided to wait.

Don’t worry about raiding. The original game released like 23 Nov 2004, and I didn’t start till 1 Feb 2005. That’s just over 2 months! I still ended up in one of the top raiding guilds on Silvermoon as a freaking Hunter.

People with a desire to raid will find a way to raid. They always have and always will. There are people literally stuck in start zones because they don’t have time to wait out the queues. You’re in good shape!

Unless you want to be server 1st you can slow way down. Classic is as much about the journy as the endgame. People were doing mc all the way up till tbc launch. You will be fine. Due to liniar progression in classic you dont need to freak out as much. You wont miss content.

Don’t worry about getting max super fast. Enjoy the ride til the end, then worry about gearing up, attuning, and all that jazz. A lot of the fun from vanilla was just getting to 60. I know what you mean though. I used to have that same issue way back when, but now I don’t mind. My friends and I are in the same level range anyway, and we’ll be doing our first dungeon soon. Work tends to get in the way though…

Rushing to 60 will lessen your experience (not that sort you tools) and if your too fast you wont have enough people to raid with anyways :stuck_out_tongue:

Im already falling into my old power leveling habits though, the hunger for more talent points is real.

I don’t think you’re behind at all. My server started off as low population, then went to high, then to medium. I’ve never had a queue. I’ve leveled to 19 in like maybe 15 hours of game time? Maybe? Point is, for Alliance on my server the lead guy (a Hunter) is in the low 30’s. If anything, being at around 20 is pretty average.

Can only go as fast as the slowest person, unless you’re in method or trying to shoot for realm first it doesn’t matter, you can’t 5-10 man a raid if the rest aren’t keeping up. Also there aren’t any achievements. As far as having a job and playing the game that was never an excuse even back in 04 albeit a lot of the player base were in their teens, It’s not like there wasn’t a portion of the player base at any point in this game that didn’t have a job and pushed more/harder content.

Here is something you need to understand…the average…player got to 60 in 3 months back in vanilla. Don’t stress so much. You won’t be left behind. Most people wont even be 60 by the time you get to it. TBH you’ll mainly be aloe at 60 if you level to quickly.

LMMFAO :joy::joy::joy: yikes

Mythic+ demands you grind those instances every single week endlessly. dungeon set 2 is a questline that once complete requires no further runs. not even remotely similar.
