Leeway here to stay

Retail has that, so why not classic?

At this point, you may as well just let it go…

Can’t hold it back anymore

Well… to be fair to Blizzard, they added an “authentic” element (spell batching) because everyone demanded it (until they realised what it meant), and now they’ve added another “authentic” element because people keep demanding that they stay as authentic as they can.

Sure. But when aren’t things abused when people find out they give them an edge?

I agree, it’s how everything works. I meant that it will be easier to abuse with the change in tech as well as it being such an announced /focused on issues making the way to abuse it being more heavily brought to light.

Right I get you. It’s kind of a weird system to still have released with classic but it’s necessary because it was actually in vanilla wow even though back then we didn’t notice it.

#NoChanges

If the goal is to create a similar vanilla experience and the new tech (systems, internet, servers) make this very noticeable is it really “actually” how it was?

Let’s hope you are playing on your old system and internet connection from back then

It’s “actually” how it was, because Blizzard can’t make it feel like it was to you since everyone’s personal experience was different.

For someone living in Los Angeles, the leeway mechanic may have felt as clunky and abusable then as it does now, but they accepted and abused it, because they understood it was necessary.

Now we all have latency like we’re living in Los Angeles. (Though, fun fact, now I am!)

I mean if you want it to feel that way you’d have to downgrade your internet lol. Because that system was in fact in the game at the time, you know?

So they tune leeway to match what the very few people in 2004 that had fast internet saw and that’s supposed to be authentic. Yet they’re willing to add layering which was never in vanilla. I think the 3 stooges are programing this.

It’s sad that pservers can give you a better classic wow experience than blizzard can.

Yeah that’s how authenticity works. Your “feels” don’t trump what is “real.”

Back pedaling hunters!!!

Because that is SOO fast and a way to separate from your target…

So explain to me why the few people that had fast internet connections are what leeway is based on? Why isn’t the majority that had slower connections what it’s based on. Wouldn’t that be more authentic?

Or are you just going to continue to white knight for blizz?

They aren’t. Leeway is based on code written in 2004. It never changed.
Your internet changed.

Wouldn’t that be more authentic?

No, that would be changing things based on your feels.

Never mind, you’re going to swallow whatever blizzard tells you. Message me when you have an opinion of your own.

Except for layering. That’s fine.

Except for the FOV change. That’s fine.

Except for the graphical updates. That’s fine.

Except for keeping retail AV. That’s fine.

Basically anything that Blizz does is fine but I’m just going to say #nochanges because REEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I don’t FEEL anything about the TECHNICAL limitations of DSL from 2004 that caused lag verses the direct Fiber Connection from 2019…

FACT: In 2004 36% of Internet users were on Dial Up
FACT: In 2019 OVER 85% of ALL internet users have High Speed Broadband
FACT: Lag is LESS of an issue today than it ever was in 2004-2006

Leeway is an archaic technology used during a bygone age of the internet…

THE ONLY people supporting leeway are going to be scrub melee players who want to grasp onto #nochanges to hide thier inability to play the game.

All you have is “muh feels.”
