Leaver punishment

That’s your narcissism showing. In a group scenario, this is a bad attitude to have.

No. That is 100% false. There are tons of keys in the group finder that are LISTED as “completion,” and many more people who don’t state that but are fine with just finishing regardless of whether they time it or not.

Failure isn’t a democracy. The key’s dead regardless of whether someone pretends it isn’t.

But the goal is to complete it as quickly as you can. Nobody is going into a key intent on not timing it, people want to go in and have a smooth run.

Too bad, you signed up to do a key with 4 other people, and their input is equal to yours in whether they think the key is bricked or not

Just proving me right lol

If you list a key as completion are you still trying to time it or no?

Also, if someone lists a key as completion, that’s great because I will never join it

Question:
Does Blizz hold onto combat logs? I dont think they do. I dont see any relevance to them saving them at all.

Details pulls the info from combat as it happens then saves the data client side (your pc). Its why sometimes youll see details not line up with end of match score cards (arena or bgs) or even other players in the group.

Logs that get posted on Warcraftlogs are all from client side uploads. Players save the data to thier pc then upload it after to the site.

Has Blizz ever said they save combat logs? I dont think they do, thats alot of useless data overall. Text logs are much different and take up alot less space, combat logs would be atrocious.

Timmy the Hunter did 22 damage to a bunny. Why keep that?

And that, my friend, is the root of all this discourse. There are far more people who simply do not understand when a key is bricked or not than do. The problem is not with the players, it’s with the giant leap players have to make from coming out of levelling/TW dungeons and suddenly being expected to know how to actually play. This system does nothing to help anyone. Blizzard needs to close that skill gap somehow instead of expecting players to police one another.

Why do people act like there’s only one person holding the group hostage in this scenario?

The new system is a group decision. It’s not a decision made by a single person, unlike someone taking it upon themselves to leave a key lol

How about no lol

So, the goal of the system isn’t to benefit anyone then, it’s to increase time waste in dead keys?

That is the literal definition of hostage holding, though.

Keeping someone in the group against their will.

True, I think players need to use ignore more often and use these tools to separate ourselves from players we don’t want to play with. The leaver system will add on to it and will either get people to play right or not at all.

Ikr, if leaving keys is so normal why are they afraid of getting the leaver badge :dracthyr_crylaugh:

The goal of the system is to benefit what the majority of people in the key want to do, instead of just letting 1 person randomly decide to leave and deciding for them.

It doesn’t do that. It can make it take longer before someone leaves, but the system allows you to leave the second the timer expires.

All this does, at best, is nothing. Otherwise it serves to waste time in dead keys.

No one is afraid of getting the leaver badge.

In fact, I would be more likely to invite someone with a leaver badge because I will think to myself “here’s a person who understands when a key is over and won’t complain if the group doesn’t go well.”

I only started at the beginning of DF. Had run a total of one mythic+ dungeon before that expansion. You’ll be collecting all portals in no time if you just put your mind to it.

Too bad, the other 4 people in your group decided they still wanted to try timing it, it’s not up for you to decide that for them.

Why are you so against the other people in your key having equal input to you?

Because free will exists.

M+ is a group activity

Eh technically it still is. At least for a certain number of dungeons. Just remains to be seen how many dungeons we are given the agency to decide our own fate in.
