It looks like weāre just seeing less players even do them because of this toxic, āall harder, all the timeā attitude. Youāre killing player engagement just so some tryhards can feel cool.

Thatās because ranged classes are constantly having to interrupt their casts to move. That heavily impacts how much DPS they can bring to the group. Thatās the whole point of the thread.
You could have stopped here. Iām not convinced this is even a bad thing. The launch and viewership of the launch and rwf were all down.
From what Iāve seen the only dps that are constantly interupted are the ones with poor positioning apart from few bosses that punish. But there are the same amount that punished melee.
I am having a very different experience. I canāt believe how many keys are listed itās insane! Itās definitely a gift and a curse, because when Iām tanking I can hand select what I want to do but when Iām on one of my rat alt DPS people could care less about my main score because of the available optionsā¦. So i list my own key!
you can only avoid so many ranged mechanics with proper positioning. lots of them specifically target you.
Just an example shadow priest is encouraged to do full mind sears both from the procs that effectively give 100 insanity worth of mind sear that turn into something much less valuble the second a circle spawns under you, or the tier set which will buff the next mind sear whether it lasts 1 tick or 4. As it turns out standing still for a 3+ second cast is actually not what a lot of packs are designed for.
Part of the issue is a lot of the stoppable mechanics that arenāt worth stopping generate ground circles that donāt effect melee nearly as much as they effect range, and generally are coupled with stoppable mechanics that are far more lethal.
Alternatively, it feels great to know when you can plant and ramp for 10 seconds.
