"Leaks" from July 4th weekend. Camelot

I don’t typically shill for content creators, but since we’re all hungry for news:

Hammerdance had a vid come out today that talks about one of the leak posts that recently sprang up….

So, for anyone who is knew to the “leaks and rumors” game….. basically every time we get something, it does get leaked…. it just also gets drowned in an ocean of fake leaks. Was this one real? We’ll apparently find out sooner than later!

I’ll give some of the bigger aspects of this particular “leak”, but I’ll save some of the rest for the guy to make his content with.

TLDR:

  1. Comes out the week of Blizzcon
  2. Alternate timeline/bronze dragonflight thing
  3. Death Knights (This is actually where I’m the MOST skeptical…. I just don’t see how the DK class design can work in a vanilla based game)
  4. A number of dungeons are now RAIDS (Scarlet Monestary is one raid), a number of raids are now DUNGEONS (Molten Core)…
  5. A lot of other things where mentioned, but yeah. Wasn’t my content to fully spoil.
  1. That makes sense.
  2. That makes sense.
  3. Boy I sure hope not. I don’t think that the thing Classic+ needs is to be more like WotLK.
  4. Interesting. Not sure how I feel about this. MC had a lot of problems but the idea of killing Rag with only 5 people feels… I dunno, I like it being huge and momentous, given how important a figure he is. We’ll have to see how it plays out.
  5. Guess I better watch the video. My curiosity is piqued.

the ‘leak’ literally says MC without Rag

I feel better about that then. I hope we still get to fight him at some point. I like the “Too soon, Executus,” moment a lot.

Wrath is soon, may as well just enjoy wrath while it lasts because as we saw last time its ephemeral.

The leak was obviously fake, made by an account that was created that day and is the only post on the account. No reason to believe random posts like that.

Honestly if Wrath bgs weren’t 90% dk bots in s4 gear, wintergrasp had been decently done, and well… SotA ever got the gdamn “capping Southern GY HURTS the offense” thing addressed, there likely wouldn’t have been as big of a drop off. Every pvper I knew quit by the end of Ulduar (also when the raiding hits that weak spot, going into togc)

Yeah that did fall off a cliff hard for sure.

Its from MMO champion so my expectation is extremely low that its real.

Every single MMO champion “leak” has one or multiple points that gives the leak away and effectively makes it fake, the fact that its basically SoD 2.0 is what makes it fake. I’m willing to be proven wrong come September but if this is it, its going disappoint people.

they’re not gonna waste time redesigning MC as a dungeon :expressionless_face: ridiculous

Negative Nancy here…. lol

I hope warriors suck. =P

I hope shamans suck then

Im ok with that… since I play multiple classes. =P

Fake.

Hey, you take that back!

Warriors just need to be good main tanks and good pressure machines in PVP.

I’m okay with Warrior DPS being about as good as any other melee. In actual Vanilla Rogues and Mages were the meta DPS choices for the big dogs chasing world firsts. “Bring the player not the class” has some merit, guess we’ll find out someday.

It was a jab at Kassa… I hope all classes are viable and fun. I just hope they keep that rock/paper/scissors style of combat. No resists from TBC though. lol

For me, it was the inclusion of Death Knights. I remember beta testing og wrath back in the day, and being absolutely floored by how dramatically different death knights’ fundamental design was to vanilla/TBC classes….. Dks in vanilla would require a complete redesign of every classes’ combat system into something at least comparable with wotlk. Death grip, chains of ice, massive aoe, and massive self heals on the same class all would break vanilla

That said, the idea that it would basically be sod 2.0 is the only thing that gives it some legitimacy, imo. I’m much lower on trusting blizzard’s capability to do this right, specifically because of sod. They’ll absolutely just throw stuff in there without regard of the impact to the game, and certainly at the expense of pvp.

The concern here from my end is pvp balancing. Making shadow good in pve, makes them gods in pvp. Fury is godly in vanilla pve, but mid at best in pvp. Warlocks are mid in pve, but can already in vanilla do multiple of your entire health bar in a global in pvp. We could realistically need separate rule sets, in order to get everyone to a decent pve level.

I have zero faith that classes will be balance. I think blizzard’s form of balancing is making everyone OP or cycling through classes making them op for a little while.
