LBGTQ+ and WoW community

You are only making it worse.

I will disagree there. It puts them in a catch- 22

Ban: Blizzard hates our group!

Dont ban: Sigh blizz is allowing trolling.

Equality is apathy
 I don’t care.

See this is exactly what my point is, and what I want to avoid happening. This is why time and again I tell people making these threads. “You are not winning any points for the community. Why are you such a hostile angry twit? Do you secretly have an anti-LGBTQ agenda? Because all your doing is stirring drama making such demands with an imperious and hostile attitude.”

And yes despite what Yesuna says, it does eventually reach a boiling point where even the most reasonable and tolerant of people just tune it out. How do people tune it out in WoW? They put you on ignore. That is what we should be TRYING to avoid as an outcome here.

A lot of us wouldn’t care of this was all in one big topic. It’s seeing the stuff littered every single day on the forums that’s irritating people.

It’s this Tulnn guy, he just makes the same damn thread with the same talking points OVER and OVER.

I just mute these threads when I see them. There is nothing productive to be had here but hatred raised towards the LGBTQ community. So why even bother participating?

Exactly. It’s like the High Elf Threads. At a certain point people just started reporting them because they existed. Not because the points raised had value or merit. They just were sick of it. If people were getting that fatigued over a fictional race’s inclusion in a fantasy game; how much more damage do you think is being done by representing a group that HAS been discriminated against; by portraying them in a false or negative light?

The answer? A lot.

Why does anyone participate when they are slandered?

Because they are being falsely portrayed and in a negative light.

I’ll always advocate for more lgbt characters, stories and events. In the end it’s blizzards decision and they seem to be happy with including more into the game. Blizzard is being progressive and that’s a positive in my book! :nail_care:

People are generally very open to a message of equality. They aren’t generally open to minority group trying to claim superiority or specialness over the majority, and often that will elicit a backlash to the minority which isn’t good for anyone.

But equality means you just exist as a normal person with no specific discrimination, but also no special fanfare or coolness.

I think many people in the LGBT, black, etc communities get mixed up in what they’re looking for and start bashing straight people or white people in general (and not just specific types of discrimination which should be eliminated) or acting like they’re not as cool or edgy as they are, and that only leads to bad outcomes for minorities and society in the long run because then the backlash sets back progress on anti-discrimination efforts.

If they are already doing it, then do us all a favor and SHUT UP about it.

To whom it may concern

Just give them what they want and please give it to them in your usual how you think they should want it manner . You know how you give us valor how you think we should want it or class balance how you think we should want it.

If they do it, they might as well realistic about it. I think they should put Tulnn in the game. Just have this NPC CONSTANTLY following you around reminding you that he is gay. Just CONSTANTLY. Make that his only character trait. We want it to reflect reality after all.

For anyone wondering why I am so anti-LGBT, its Tulnn. Tulnn is how I see all gay people because thats all I seem to run into. If you aren’t Tulnn, I am sorry. But until people like Tulnn go away, I dont know if I can wish away my perceptions.

Honestly I’ll give him credit. Wants to troll but can hide behind virtue signaling as his shield. That and terrible moderation.
