Layering is destroying the economy

Is game. Play game.

Youā€™re wrong. If there werenā€™t an oversupply, people would be buying underpriced materials faster than they could be farmed and listed.

It might not be the layering thatā€™s the issue - it might be imbalance between the farming done by masses of levelers and the consumption by crafters - but itā€™s not the auction add ons.

Thatā€™s not to say the auction add ons arenā€™t a problem. Add ons definitely contribute to the pages and pages of single items. Unfortunately, because of #nochanges, the simple fix that was made within the past year or so on Retail canā€™t be done on Classic. At least until auction house database lag with the new, larger servers make things so unbearable they have to make an exception to #nochanges.

I have stopped trying to sell in AH as there is not enough price difference from just vendoring the stuff.

There are groups of people using level 1 characters with an addon that auto invites any player that whispers a specific phrase to it.

This was done by a lot of the players rushing level 60 world firsts. Including Jokerd on his livestream and a majority of the playerbase in APES. This kind of abuse is easily noticeable by players even without the addon, if you pay attentin you will probably notice the ā€œinvite for layer pleaseā€ crap in general chat every 10-15 minutes or players will just use multiple friends.

No of course I did not think about this awesome argumentā€¦since the reason they are making a lot of money is precisely because they sell the items found in the chestsā€¦

Who cares if people are stacking black lotus?

If a whole bunch of people are doing it, itā€™s going to destroy the value. Whatā€™s the point in owning a valuable item if itā€™s no longer valuable?

They canā€™t sell it for high prices, because people canā€™t afford it. So they either have to wait for the value to rise, or sell it for lower price.

Items were always going to be cheap during the initial push.

The only people the layer abusers are hurting are themselves.

Simply that an increase in supply has no direct effect on demand.

This is due to TSM, not layering.

Enjoy garbage ā€œā€""""""ā€œaddons(read: literal botting program)ā€""""""" ruining the game.

Absolutely not true.

My wife and I typically end up in different layers when we logged in. Once we logged back in and I had a tin node that i harvested. After she logs in and we realize we are phased out (we could see each others dot on the mini map but not each other), she invites me and i hop layers to get to her the tin is back. Didnt think much of it until I read some posts, thought the node had respawned lol.

I find your lack of understanding disturbing.

Same on my server, I was shocked when I saw stacks of 20 for a few silver, just short above vendorā€¦ The game is dead, I donĀ“t see how Blizzard can fix that, unless they know how to rollback everyone who abused layering.

I was so looking forward to trade in Classic, as there items still mattered, but the pirate server crowd and their attitude towards hacks, has ruined it all.

You lack even a basic understanding of economics. Go take a class or read a book, then come back and weā€™ll start again.

Agreed. Blizzard needs to fix this and ban those who exploited or at the very least remove the items they received

In UO (Ultima Online) wayback in the day, if a person got banned or suspended, his character was physically still in game but locked in a jail cell for everyone to mock and laugh at.

Thank you was hoping to find one! Been trying to search on Curse and no luck, perhaps my search skills need work haha.

Enlighten me as to how increased supply magically decreases demand.

Iā€™m dead :joy:
