Layered vs nonlayered for "tourists"

And what happens when tourists end up rolling on your non layered servers?

Didn’t have to wait long.

The thing with layering is this: Blizz will do what Blizz does regardless of the spam threads on this. Your word vomit won’t change their minds. There are 2 options.

  1. Suck it up, butter cup and play the game.
  2. Don’t suck it up, butter cup and don’t play.

Or they could just ignore the trolls presenting false dichotomies and continue suggesting better alternatives in hopes that it may come to pass. Rather than sit idly by and let their fate be decided by others.

Lol, it’s ok if English isn’t your native language, but you see in English, when you start a statement by specifying a subsection of a group, the rest of the statement is referring to those in the subsection, unless otherwise specified.

It’s ok man, English is hard.

I lol’d, that was good. (gottem)

I think this is a great idea!

All the Activision/fortnite fan-bois can play on layered servers.

The real old school Blizzard loyalists can play on the real classic non-layered servers.

Everyone wins!

Oh I see what’s going on here. You don’t know what a blanket statement is. That’s ok. Try to remember it next time.

They actually explained the Fallacy of Composition to you. look it up.

Again man, sorry if you’re having problems with English, you can look into apps like Duolingo that can help teach you it on a more substantial level, but here lemme educate you a bit.
A blanket statement is a generalization - something that covers everything, like a metaphorical blanket . There is an implication when using " blanket statement " that it may be an over-generalization

Now notice how it talks about blanket statements being generalization, however when someone specifies a subsection of a group, well that’s making a “Specific” statement by “specifying” that subgroup from the start.

There is no shame in learning a new language!

I hope if they decide to keep layering in they at least do this and offer some non-layered ones. No reason not they could even have a warning saying that non-layered servers use que times if they are afraid of unaware people trying them.

Most people are fine with this. There were tourists in WoW before.

So not only are you in denial and can’t even practice what you preach but you are also a bigot by grouping an entire group of people into a single mindset. This is my last reply since the only thing you can do is talk in circles and not actually understand that what you said is wrong and can’t look beyond your own nose.

what’s a “tourist”?

From El Presidente:

"As a longtime World of Warcraft player, even I don’t know whether Classic servers will be a success. My guess is once the initial wave of tourists dies down, there will only be a small core group of people left. “That’s OK,” Brack assures me. “I don’t think that’s wrong. There will be a core group of people who are really excited, and that’s the game for them and that’s the thing they want to play.”

“I think there will be a lot of tourists,” he adds.

How do you differenciate a tourist from a non-tourist?

Beta would be an excellent {layered v unlayered servers} opportunity for that test but, they choose a money grab and hype of streamers, is why they keep it small.

just more wasted opportunity for blizz to have gotten some real useful feedback…

Tourists pay the bills local won’t.

Theory is the word you are looking for as hypothesis is a guess. Theory is not a guess.

Blizzard has supporting evidence that shows player habbit. Many years of it.

There would be a lot of dead level 20s on that server as people patient enough to get past the login queues would log in, get to 20, take a break, and then give up on the server and go somewhere else when they couldn’t log in again.

So yeah, there would be a stable population of level 20s.

Easy, check back every month and see who has been playing. Those are not your tourists.

Why would you? The tourists will leave after a short while, you miss the point if you think this is about tracking or targeting the “tourists” the people they described as “tourists” is not meant to be an insult, or make it adversarial in any way, the whole point is to be able to refer to the subsection of the people who in general are “playing just to see what it’s like” blizzard has described these people as those who drop off after a few weeks or around the mid level grind.

so STOP and think for a moment if you’re line of thinking is “THIS WILL GET THEM!” or anything along those lines then you need to stop.

Why TF do people assume giving options to let people with similar mindsets sort themselves out so they can enjoy the game is a bad thing? Like TF is your argument? you do realize that allowing people to form their own communities that value the same things is A HUGE PART OF THIS GAME!
