It won’t let you quadruple post.
It’s more annoying when they don’t let you double post because you created the thread. I wanted to get some more duck = first ones discussion going over at the GD forums but Blizzard told me no. I am forced to wait until someone else replied, even hours or a few days later.
Le Bump. And Le sigh.
From Engadget :
The family lawsuit alleges Moynihan’s boss, Greg Restituito, lied to Anaheim police and otherwise tried to hide evidence of a sexual relationship with the victim. He made “unusual inquiries” with employees present with Moynihan the night before her demise, according to a police report cited in the suit. Restituito left Activision Blizzard in May 2017, the month after Moynihan’s death.
Activision Blizzard was reportedly uncooperative with police at the time. It refused to hand over the company laptops of either Moynihan or Restituito, and also declined access to Restituito’s phone.
Looks like someone at the company could - or perhaps they should - be charged with hindering an investigation.
It breaks my heart to see a family wonder about the loss of their kin - and Blizzard was hiding information.
It is heart breaking to me. Infuriating. Disappointing. I guess the cover ups go all the way up to their legal department - not just subterfuge of a few bad actors.
I mean, I am not mad enough to unsub. I like this game, and I hope they are trying to do better. But this is a level of disgusting that makes me want to wretch.
I considered unsubbing during the lawsuit, but didn’t because I’m not sure how much effect that would have, it wouldn’t undo what was done and there’s some decent people there (thankfully, not everyone at Blizzard is at the depths of Brack, Kotick or Afrasiabi).
I was tempted to buy Blizzard shares to become a shareholder so I could call for answers, change and actual punishment of culprits (with actual jail-time, none of this “golden parachute” nonsense like what Kotick will probably, and undeservedly, get).
imo unsubbing as a statement is most effective done once, and the first time.
Any Legal Department that keeps Police from making Arrests are using made-up Legal-Jargon to keep themselves and their employers from being arrested.
If the Police would simply ignore the Legal Jargon and forcefully arrest the Lawyers and those preforming Obstruction for said Obstruction I’m sure the Lawyers would be caught off guard completely!
I wouldn’t go that far. Arresting is a bit much. But at least sharing information.
I don’t want people to just be arrested. But perhaps companies can be more transparent if an employee has “extracurricular” activities with a superior, and then dies. Instead of blockading evidence.
Maybe that is asking too much?
We can hope that Microsoft won’t put up with the shady awful stuff that’s been going on, I suppose.
Maybe arrests are warranted, given the nature of the crimes and that they contributed to someone’s death. It would certainly put the fear of God (figuratively, if not literally) into CEOs and big companies.
The company’s attitude rubs off on the community. A GD thread about the family suing was unlisted due to the degenerates.
This is very nice.
I paid for copies of the document images for the Kerri Moynihan case and the evidence is just shy of a “smoking gun” IMHO

- Kerri’s room was right across the hall from her male supervisor Greg Restituito
- At 1:24 Kerri spoke to Restituito then returned to the Bar.
- At approximately 1:31 a.m., Restituito sent Kerri a text message
stating: “Please don’t do that. Not tonight. Think about it and make your decision when your mind
is clear.” - She left the bar at ~1:52 am to return to her room
- The coroner’s report gave her death as 02:00 am
- According to data from Restituito’s room keycard Restituito repeatedly left his room for short intervals (starting at ~2:15)
- The next morning he tried to contact her from 8:30 am to 9:00 am finally getting hotel security to step in around 9:27 am
- At some point he had access to her room as he called the hotel requesting a key card to his hotel room be returned to him. He told detectives he had been in her room to prepare for a presentation she was giving the day she died
- She did not leave a suicide note nor was there any record of her pre-planning the suicide. None of her text messages gave any indication of suicide.
However I’ve noticed a possible error in the death certificate. Forgive me for being an ignorant kiwi but I’m pretty sure a hotel located in Orange County CA would be using Pacific Time not Eastern standard time right ?
Well the complaint document doesn’t specify the times are in PST or EST.
The death certificate gives the time of death as 02:00 EST. At 02:00 EST she was very much still alive a fact that multiple witnesses can attest to her - she was still at the bar then. Assuming that is , that the times given in the complaint document were in PST.
There’s always the possibility that the EST is an abbreviation for estimated
I believe if EST is all caps, then it’s Eastern Standard Time. It it’s all lower case (est) or only the first letter is capitalized (Est) then it’s estimate.
But on the death certificate they’re doing the whole all caps thing for filling in a form.
An actual MVP post. Thank you!
That’s definitely possible.
Except every handbook I can find on death certificate practices for the US and California say that if the time of death is estimated they are to put “Approx” by the time and not “EST”
However it did say that California is usually the first to adapt new death certificate formats so it’s entirely possible it’s either a new format … or it’s not a strict requirement to use “Approx”
I did look at examples of California Death certificates and of the 20 of so from various points of history only 1 other death cerficate used “EST” vs “Approx”
Bump to keep this from getting buried until the lawsuit is completely over and done with.
