I think a lot of things are cute but the landstriders we never a part of that. whispers I don’t like the skin…shivers This look more like snapdragons with long legs.
… like… those are what people consider giraffes now-a-days?

What other deer-like animals have legs that long?
Granted it looks more like an Okapi (forest giraffe) and the markings on the red and white ones make me think of them.
It even has spots and stripes.
If you know any real-world animals that resemble these moreso than a giraffe, I’m all ears lol.
To me, it’s quite clearly a hybrid between a dragon and a giraffe.
Like bakars are dragon-dogs, vorquin are dragon-deer/stags, and hornswog are dragon-frogs. Also those dragon-sabre cats, Rockfangs.

It’s the closest thing I personally can think of.
No other mammal walks on stilts like that.
Baby giraffes have shorter necks, so they kinda look like that.
I’d call it a “lava okapi with long legs” but that doesn’t sound as good.
Also, okapi are rare (once rumored to be extinct until a sighting) and lots of people don’t even know what animal they are.
I’m sure there are giraffes out there with shorter necks, but I would think it’s either because of a birth defect, or a freak accident.
These things look like they came from a strider, some equine creature, and a dragon all from the same bedroom.
Like I’ve seen my share of hick stories from MG Goldshire but…. wtf am I witnessing here?

I think everything in that movie is someone’s idea of a bad time. That’s part of its charm. The Landstriders at least have those long cute bunny ears.
At least until you look closer and notice that they’re not ears at all, but elongated shoulder blades with creepy wispy hair. And their faces look like an old man crossed with a catfish.
But they are friendly and loyal.

Yes, when you are little kid thinking the Dark Crystal is going to be like Fraggle Rock.

I don’t know. When I was a kid I wanted to be a Garthem Soldier when I grew up. Or a storm trooper.
I still think Trial by Stone is probably the best basis for a system of government.
They remind me of Dali.
Aren’t spiders meant more for PvP, since they shoot webs, and that’s perfect for slowing the opposing faction?

I wanted to be retired when I was little. Not, joking if my parents were alive they would tell you. I thought being retired was a job were you stayed at home, did what you wanted to do, and someone sent you a check in the mail. My grandma retired and that is how it worked for her. I could not understand why more people were not retired as a job.
Then my parents told me the hard truth crushing my hopes and dreams…

I flew around the entire zone; Anyone Played Lotro? The Beginning reminded me of a mixture of Moria and Deepholm in WOW Cata! Consider me incredibly intrigued.
I have to admit though, seeing these creatures was a mixture of cringe and absolute horror for some reason.
More so for the healthpools of some of them shiver 1780k hp!?
