Launcher won't open, incredible lag, 5 FPS if I manage to get in

Tuesday’s update wrecked the game for me. The battle.net launcher opens an outline of a window and never loads.
I can launch the game by running wow.exe. I login and get to a character screen that is lagging so hard characters take nearly a minute to load.
I’ve tried logging in to characters in Valdrakken, in Remix, even one little alt all alone in Kharanos. Takes a minute or two for the loading screen to go away, takes a minute for the character to show up on screen.
Then the game is unplayable. Before Tuesday, 60fps day after day with zero issues. Now, an unplayable 5fps.
Please don’t give me the “oh it’s your addons” excuse. Fix whatever got broken with Tuesday’s update. Thanks.

Im having the same exact issues!!! Which I did disable my addons etc just to see if that could be an issue and nothing. Following this post for sure because its not just me either

Same issue. Battle.net is a blank screen. I thought it was a Windows Update that was the culprit, so I did a system restore to before the Windows Update, and was able to log in finally with the unplayable 5fps lag.

Windows updated again overnight, so I uninstalled WoW, reinstalled it, and same problems. Battle.net almost never loads, but when it does, the game is unplayable.

If Bnet is a blank screen, you likely have something blocking the popup advertisement when it launches, so you can’t get past that. Antivirus apps, security apps like Sophos, etc., can cause this. You would need to request exceptions from those companies, or manually add them.

No. Before the Tuesday update everything appeared just fine on the launcher, game icons, ads, etc. This is not an antivirus issue. Something has changed on the back end. I’m not the only person seeing this happen.

The Tuesday maintenance changed the version number, so security apps would see it as a new executable.

Windows Defender settings and log show no issues. Nothing in Protection History or Virus & threat protection. It’s not a security app issue.
