Laughable Voice Acting

I remember my spouse at the time asking wtf was that when that scene came up. He’s like a really terrible alien mimicing a human and failing badly.

That’s what I do. I know wow has music but I much prefer my own. Drowns out bad va in any game

I imagine your talking about the one at the first of the campaign. I can recall her name. That was just painful to listen to. When you’re riding to your destination they have so many lines and none of it flows. Constant pauses and it’s like the voice actor is trying to decide what tone is appropriate for the character on each one. Wrathion wasn’t that great either. Sometimes he sounded like he always does and others like it was a different person.

I remember this one’s voice questing in Hyjal on my Hunter. I thought it was… a little extra. It wouldn’t have been so bad if there was some background noise from “tHe FiReLOrD!” roaring, molten lava glupping about, maybe some rock smashing sounds.

But sadly it sounds like he’s screaming to himself in an empty room with his voice ricocheting off the walls back at him. Sounds very muted and ridiculous. But in defense of how the Dracthyr sound, I guess someone could say that Dragons like this emerald drake in the past were a general guideline for how their voices would be. So I guess it’s as lore-accurate as it’s gonna be because they don’t sound very different at all.

Actually they sound good in that video.

I recall the MoP beta having issues like that. It got smoothed out over time.

It’s not that bad OP, come on.

Pretty much this, a lot of folk here mention problems with their tone or not showing emotions properly, that’s pretty much a director not giving enough, well, directions on how they should act in that particular scene, so the Voice Actors just have to try and guess with the available material given to them.

Also a lotta beta stuff still needs to be smoothed out. MoP had choppy delivery then it was fine on launch

maybe they saw the stats on how often i skip vidyas and voicelines asap and figured it wasnt worth investing there lol

Cindrethresh is their name and the voice acting is incredible and I suspect inspired from reptilian races from other games primarily the Elder Scrolls and Argonians.

I think you don’t like it because you want Cindrethresh to sound like some Rich White Wine Mum who lives in Beverley Hills and not a Dragon.

Here’s a decent example for Argonian Females and how they sound in Skyrim btw for those who don’t know what they sound like.

You don’t sound like somebody I’d ever like to meet. :joy::sweat_smile:

Like you sound like a Cheeto-dust gamerbro who totally absolutely 100% for sure respects women and doesn’t see anything they do in gaming as “laughable”

I long for the old days when Metzen voiced… well… Pretty much everything lol

People meme this scene as an example of “bad voice acting” but they never seem to realise that the horrible laughter was on purpose. The whole point of the scene was about forcing the laughter, to try and be happy in spite of all that is happening

It was forced laughter because they werent truly happy

Unsurprising media illiteracy is unfortunately far too common like it was obviously supposed to sound like that on purpose going off the other characters dialogue and behaviour

I know when voice acting is bad but that part wasn’t bad it was on purpose.
