to admit that voice acting as a profession has pretty much never been worried about the gender of the actor versus the gender of the character?! Bob’s Burgers is a FAILING SHOW because it’s so WOKE and WOKE GOES BROKE and that’s why NOBODY LIKES IT. Or something.

Idk pretty much every expansion has that kind of junk too me, but i kinda like some of it.
There was a good amount of it in bfa but atleast it was kinda meant too be a joke to some degree with alot of those characters.
But i also find it incredibly boring when wow takes everything super seriously, thats why sl was sooo boring to me in that regard.
Hot take, blizzard is wasting money on voice acting and ingame cut scenes. Majority of people have the ability to read quest test and chat bubbles though people choose not to. I would much rather have all the time and money devoted toward more content rather then seeing my character awkwardly stand around while the super heros do something.

The best acting in the game is in Valsharah (sp?) with the quests in the tree. We’re tasked to kill a big satyr and he says something like “the druids will torment us no longer” (I can’t remember the exact verbiage) but it sounds like he’s saying “the droids…”. I crack up every time I do that quest. Some of Xavius’ lines are delivered pretty badly/cheesily, too.
The best cure for feeling like you’re entitled to tear down professionals doing their jobs is to try to become skilled at something yourself.

lol, I played this quest just a couple of days ago. Hilarious spot in a real dark questline. That zone is super dark in story tone.

Sometimes i wonder if people actually read what they type on this forum. That’s like buying a half cooked sloppy pizza and the chef saying “well you should become a chef and cook your own pizza”. Come on man, do better with your comments.

Personally, I never pay attention to the voice acting and just read the chat. Can never hear it anyway because of all the background sound added. Even have music off and ambiance turned down in the settings but it never seems to help. I absolutely hate when they don’t add captions to cinematically as well.
I realize this is a me problem but it probably affects others as well.
That tracks with the current WoW team’s overall performance as game designers.

I first read this post when it was made and really didn’t think much of it, I assumed just someone’s opinion and since blizz has done nothing right for a long time I can understand people being frustrated and nit picking dumb things. While now that im playing in the beta myself…omg lol this is the most valid complaint that no one else seems to be talking about.
Even one of the first dragons you quest with the one with sword and shield (can’t remember name) sounded just terrible. The voice in no way looked like it could possibly belong to that character. It felt like if Dwayne Johnson was voiced over by a small child and everyone’s pretending it’s not happening lol. Idk what they where thinking, testing this it had to feel extremely out of place and it completely pulled me from any immersive I was suppose to feel in this brand new vast land.
I haven’t got far enough to see other examples but this one was bad enough to make me mute and just read the dialog…that says something. Can’t believe this is going live like this. Really really poorly done
