Last Boss for Dragonflight

We have no way of knowing the last boss of the new expansion but I’m just curious what everyone else thinks. I hope Galakrond doesn’t come back but could it be another giant dragon? Do you think it’s a titanic keeper? Or perhaps A DUCK? I’d like to hear your thoughts.

Only if they’re making Dragonflight the expansion where we lose at the end.

It’s going to be an evil stonebro.

Did they ever say who was trying to kill Chromie?

I think we’ll get some hints as the expansion goes on and maybe it’ll be a threat from within like the Nozdormu idea.

The Old Gods. It’s always the Old Gods.

I think it is going to be a surprise non-draconic or super draconic enemy we haven’t seen before. Blizzard deliberately sets out a big bad every expansion, unless they are intentionally trying to make it a bit of a surprise. They already hinted at enemies of dragons being attracted. The ones they specifically mentioned aren’t much of a threat, but for certain there are others which are worse.

That said, I think Nozdormu is going to be an end boss in a middle raid. He somehow falls and is weakened so we can defeat him in the End Time dungeon. I think it would be amusing if we were somehow helping ourselves from the background, like the enemies we fought then are what slip through now. A time themed raid could be really cool with some imagination, or really boring without.

EDIT: Forgot one that seems very plausible. Bellular theorized that Galakrond was infested by devourers similar to what we are currently seeing in ZM, and that was the source of his insatiable hunger. So the devourers I see as a very probable enemy.

I actually think this could be an interesting play at how us destroying the void as we have has destabalized the balance of cosmic forces. Maybe this is why Nozdormu joins with the void in the first place: To re-establish this balance.

They didn’t really explain at all the storyline of the next expansion. I think galakrond will make a return… why else would you need to get the power of the dragon flights

Gonna throw a wild idea out there and say Chromatus. Set up a rivalry between the player characters and the genderbent Tiamat seeking godhood and make it last a few expansions.

If we don’t interact with Galakrond in some way that’s huge missed opportunity imo.
They had a whole thing in Northrend with Arthas trying to unearth and resurrect him.
We also just spent an entire expansion dealing with the dead and necromancy, etc…

Don’t know. It doesn’t necessarily need to be a dragon of some type… it could be anything. They tried the Jailer [here is villain, upfront, you know who] which failed [for reasons they probably are unaware of].

My guess is they want you going in kind of oblivious and let the story direct you to the end boss. The mind needs a rest from all this world ending stuff so they probably want people escaping into the zones they built and let that unfold to build it back up to the actual threat.

There’s been speculation about Chromatus, a five-headed chromatic dragon experiment created by Nefarian in the book “Thrall: Twilight of the Aspects”. Since it couldn’t be outright killed for some reason, it was contained in some kind of arcane prison. Maybe it gets out?

Oh you know what! This could be the expansion we’re Nozdormu starts shifting to being evil and it could be him!

It’ll be a chocobo

Its gonna be ballsy if Galakrond is the final boss for this expansion but without a doubt fun. The world should be dark when he’s back alive and I would like to see dragonriding mechanic brought into the fight.

However, i have a feeling that where Chromatus is, he’s going to wake up and escape. Would be a waste if they don’t bring him into WOW.

Certainly a possibility. If he’s not involved (and opposed) in some form or another, I will be surprised (not to mention a tad disappointed). I mean, we know he doesn’t outright DIE yet, he has to go back to the past (Cataclysm-era) to do that..

On the website it reads under raids “Venture into the ancient prison of the Primal Incarnates before their malevolent power can be unleashed against the Dragon Aspects.” I think this is unrelated but maybe it could hold Chromatus?

The true ultimate evil of Dragonflight,

is alternate reality Chromie.
