With the resources and capital Blizzard has access to, it seems unacceptable for them to charge money for sitting in queue waiting to log in for 8 hours to be able to play with your friends.
I don’t mean to go full-on Karen, but I’m sure the 25,000 people in the queue on our server trying to log in at lunch time to be able to play with their friends after work, get in at 7pm, DC’d and put back into queue at 8:30pm are just as irate as I am.
It seems as if they’re almost trying to make it difficult for people to play classic, and use the server capacity as an excuse to justify their “You think you do, but you don’t”. Even though Private servers can pull it off without having anywhere close to the resources that Blizzard has access to.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
You could roll on a different server. There are several without 25,000 queues.
I reserved two, two-letter names on Whitemane. I logged in the second Whitemane name reserves hit. I tried to log into Whitemane today at 2:00 pm PDT and was hit with a 14k queue and after 3 hours it was 6,000.
I am leaving a discord I have been active in for over a week with nearly 6,000+ messages.
It really is pretty simple. You just pick a new realm.

I get the concept of just picking a new realm but the point of playing classic is to play with your friends. If even one of them was willing to reroll i totally would, but they’re already invested in the server and dont want to leave.
It seems like a ton of people have the same issues and guilds have already mentioned that if transfers were available they would transfer off so they dont lose their time investment.
Blizzard has the technology to make this happen but they’re scared of having “dead realms” and the alternative is 10s of thousands of upset customers.
If they cant do it with their team why not outsource people who can do it. The game is 15 years old surely to god they can make it work.
