Imagine a game with such a terrible community that you’d rather do those dungeons with bots instead of real players if it were actually an option (and it’s not. FF14 has sprout icons for new players, and people are super helpful. But FF14 also has dungeon finder, and players that arent dicks lol

Never thought of it this way but yeah… it probably does expose people to needless bullying to force them to form groups in a certain way. We probably should protect these people by adding in RDF!

Dungeon grouping in this game promotes bullying. Im not against RDF - absolutely am against LFR though - but I will never use the dungeon finder. As a tank I know it’ll always be my fault the second something goes awry and I just refuse to pug because of it. DPS are so entitled and it never changes. Don’t know every single pull like its the back of your hand? flame the tank. Tank knows every nuance of the dungeon and an inexperienced dps doesn’t know the skips? Flame the tank. The pug community in this game is toxic. With or without RDF this won’t change. The biggest problem with wotlk RDF is it’s extremely abusable for bullying purposes. The system gets updated heavily in cata to counteract the abuse to the system and if we get WoTLK RDF I see it being a bad addition.

This is a disingenuous interpretation of what was introduced. They have given players the option to play through dungeons with an NPC party. Again it’s an OPTION for someone who doesn’t have time and/or doesn’t want to form a party to run a dungeon. A pretty nifty feature for newbies who want to get a feel for a class/spec/dungeon mechanic before involving other folks.

And the game remains wildly popular.

Also, FFXIV forces you to do the main quest to unlock stuff and that requires you to enter dungeons. You can’t always find a group, some are solo players averse to grouping, so the NPC party is a welcome addition. The guy that runs FFXIV, Naoki Yoshida, actually cares about the game and its community. It’s his life’s work and it shows in the game. Blizzard is not capable of that kind of devotion.
