Why is there a general lack of Deep Magics in Ny’alotha?
The Waters of the Deep used by the Tidesages only appear once this Patch and it is by Pandaren Water Elementals and that guy the Tidesages turn into a Deep Elemental. We should be seeing Deep Elementals everywhere alongside Delirium Elementals!
N’Zoth is clearly failing to live up to his title of God of the Deep.
The abyss of General Discussion pales in comparison of the Abyss of the Deep! N’Zoth’s words and illusions would break you if you looked into that Abyss in reality!
Back on point: Blizzard underused N’Zoth’s Magics and focused way too much on the Void Aspect rather than the Delirium and Deep Aspects of his nature.
We should see K’thir baptizing civilians into Deep Elementals all over the Horrific Visions of Stormwind and Orgrimmar! We should see Delirium Elementals everywhere as well!
When was he officially called like this? In the raid he is called N’zoth, the Corruptor. And as far as I am aware his whole deal has always been a trickster-like Old God, even in the Assaults we’re seeing more tentacle + eyes motif with illusions and stuff.
You sort of answered your own question, the Tidesages were the ones who summoned the Elementals which probably were infused or had Void-like properties.
I also have no clue where you got the ‘‘deep magics’’ thing from.
Yvenathilm operates on a different dimension from the rest of us.
I used to think he lived in a parallel WoW with different perhaps made up rules, but it increasingly seems like I’m just ignorant and there really is this level of meta-magical lore I just completely did not know existed.
I couldn’t agree more. The void is great and all but they really could have diversified his influence even it comes to insanity and the deep or abasal aspects of his powers. I think a great example of this was in that one section in Kul Tiras where you see he has spread his influence all over the undersea life. Or Stormsong Monastery, that entire place has a have of insanity.
But I can’t be to surprised. The Emerald Nightmare was a realm of not just glowing red rot but also mind altering insanity and Blizz didn’t even give us that. N’Zoth has been underutilized and underrepresented.
Ny’alotha, referred to as the sleeping city or the dreaming city, is the domain of the Black Empire, a dimension inhabited by the Old Gods and their minions, and separated from the physical world by a thin veil.
It was inhabited by the Old Gods, it’s not JUST N’zoth’s domain.
When you realize he’s like this scholar investigating all the Old Gods, it makes a little more sense. Like brother here has delved into trying to understand the unfathomable, which effects the way he presents it to us.
