Korrak's Revenge Was The Worst Experience I've Ever Had in WoW

Korrak’s is skewed to favor Horde in one situation, a double rush.
If Alliance do any modicum of defense or coordinated offense they can easily win the map.

Whenever Alliance was coordinated it was a landslide victory for them. Like Horde not even controlling the Aid Station or pulling the boss.
At the same time, whenever Horde won it was usually by a less than 5 minute lead. Alliance were often fighting Drek before Vann was dead.

Backdoor Relief Hut is stupidly broken.
All 4 towers can be solo capped by a Rogue who can Vanish to despawn all the archers if other players are out of range.

Alliance lost because people went there for two reasons, the mount and leveling alts.
The number of times I got zero teammates to go to the relief hut with me on alliance alts was staggering.
The number of times the Alliance team completely skipped IBT for the first 10-15 minutes was mind boggling.

The map only offers Horde an early advantage to Stonehearth Bunker, everything else heavily favors the Alliance.

If you had played back then, AV and IoC were almost all bots on Horde side. It was a nearly a 100% win rate for Alliance. And I’ve barely played any epic BGs on this guy in BFA. It’s hell in there for Alliance, but least we have a good shot in the regular BGs. And Korrak’s has been played exclusively on my alts.

But with the way you’re talking, I bet you haven’t been in many EBGs. Because the Horde utterly dominate them now.

I mean if you cant read the text above the winrate you are trying to use as your point I honestly cant help you there :man_shrugging: was just pointing out your ignorance. Fun fact, Alliance did win a ton in AV and IoC where the horde teams were either bots or youd get the occasional full premade that stomped you. If he got that win rate and stopped queuing for a while then the % wouldnt lower.

Look at mine, the winrate used to be similar but I went on a week EBG spam kick and it dropped below 70%. Out of 30 matches only 5 were wins.

Next time dont be so condescending in things you clearly have no idea about.

The functionality of despawning archers has been around since AV classic, if there is nobody being targeted when the flag is assaulted they all despawn. Guards with Vann/Drek are based off of towers remaining, there was not a single bug regarding any of that.

Look, you’re welcome to believe whatever you want about my pvp experience. I didn’t mean to start a fight with you, and I get that skewed maps are unfun. But you’re not always losing, not in epics or in normals. Saying that is being disingenuous.

As of right now in BFA EBGs are ran by horde. Some horde that play exclusively in epics have a 95%+ winrate in all epics in BFA according to their reflex addons. Always losing in epics isnt far from the truth in this expac.

Getting an Alliance team to work together is like herding cats.

Everyone does whatever they want to do regardless of direction or instruction. Alliance just plain sucks at PvP.

I never said I was losing in normal BGs. And in epics the Alliance might get an occasional win, but it’s relatively rare.

But my point is Korrak’s is brutally unfun for Alliance, and I’d bet the win rate for horde is north of 90%. That is not good design for something the player base is heavily incentivized into doing.

He doesnt have a lot of games in pvp in general on that toon. Im assuming he just honestly doesnt know and that is why he pointed to alliance winning epics all the time like we are back in WoD.

Alliance do not play to win Korrak’s revenge. I’ve played it a lot on both sides and you never see any teamwork alliance side, you barely ever see healers and tanks alliance side as well. I’ve sat there and watched dps try to take a graveyard or tower solo only to get demolished by guards multiple times. Even when there are alliance grouped up they single file into instant death. Ally rarely ever use CC on elites either and I hardly see DKs using control undead on the abomination walking around Iceblood graveyard. I just don’t know what happened to them over the years, there is such a MASSIVE skill gap between the two factions now when it comes to casual PvP. And its not that horde have improved by an insane amount over the years, its that alliance has decayed to the point where they don’t even do the basics anymore.

Taken from my thread on this matter. That BG may have been helpful for leveling toons, but I’m glad that event is over. Doing my seven characters on alliance side really drained me.

No it’s not, all of the alliances problems in Korraks revenge are self inflicted.

No they aren’t

Alliance archers are placed so that no matter where you are they can shoot at you while you try taking a bunker, especially if doing so solo.

As bunkers/towers burn npcs disappear that’s working as intended. The commanders and lts in alliance bunkers can attack horde through the floor too.
The towers for alliance are all closer together and closer to the graveyards. The RH can be assaulted from behind, Horde have to cross a bridge.

It’s not Blizzards fault that many Alliance pugs that went into KR were just simply bad teams. When Alliance did what they were suppose to and tried to win, 9/10 times they won.

I’ve had tons of fun doing Korrak’s revenge. Thank you Blizzard for the blast!

yep.

my alliance wins were not DPS races. Horde’s small 30 second ish head start was washed away. Not even on Venn when Drek was put down hard.

We got the south with plenty of time. It was small things that helped. Like not losing TP to small horde patrols. They force the breaking of the CC on the commander Lou Phillips (name I got to know and hate well lol) and Lou and the horde whoop dat butt. edit: ya see if lou is dead…defenders can defnd however they want. And the commander is not there to join in on the beat down.

2-3 defenders on TP some will cleave or AOE with horde nearby. Not only will…they need to. remove some classes AOE/cleave and dps dumps fast…

AoE breaks the sheep and Lou was not happy. Not happy at all.

And then alliance wondered why TP got wiped (pun intended).

rubbish.

can’t say i ever saw this, either first hand, or via bug reports.

yeah… when towers burn.
it’s how the game works.

it was fixed…

why do teams need to arrive at enemy towers at the same time?

Korrak’s revenge was awesome and I enjoyed every game I went into imo!

But maybe that’s just me.

loved it. got half wins or more on my alliance toons. Won many on horde.

I wish more bgs used the scaled ilvl tech to a base level with no advantages. That way we can use trinkets and items from the entire game. Please add this feature to a permenant pvp mode blizz! Honestly the most annoying thing about pvp was the constant gear resets each season. i find this to be the most inclusive event. No barriers to entry. The reason I enjoy overwatch pvp so much.

I have my doubts.

Always enjoy how AV is an alliance BG and now that hordes get the upper hand alliance go bananas… humans eh?
