There are no specs doing worse than feral at the moment…

I literally just listed off MM and Frost…

Which have other specs doing the same thing.

Maybe this is why you’re struggling as a druid. Attention span so short you dont remember to reapply your dots

And I explained to you that they arent and gave you specs similar to feral (both ranged and melee dps specs btw) that you could play/swap to and enjoy.

Mage has a melee dps spec?

So proximity to a boss is the only thing that makes specs different from each other?

Stand in melee and play boomie, problem solved!

Stand at ranged and throw axes problem solved.

Yep, you can do that too if you want. Thankfully every class can do their full dps from melee range so if that’s your only requirement I dont see an issue. Problem solved?

Now that we’ve gone through the first 2 points do you want to talk about pvp? I’m having fun right now.

Now explain why every raid doesn’t just stack melee dps.

? Because there are players that, unlike you, like to stand far away from the boss. One would think that someone that likes to stand close to the boss would also understand that there are some that enjoy being further away.

Usually because it’s easier for ranged to do mechanics, or blizzard intentionally adds mechanics that require a specific number of people to be at range. But even then if melee are massively overtuned (vanilla warrior, icc feral, tomb of sargeras rogue) strong raids will run the bare minimum of ranged/casters to handle the mechanics and fill the rest with the strong classes.

I, for one, dont like looking at boss butt if I can help it.

I’m a big fan of a/d spamming while doing my rotation, carpal tunnel speedrun choo choo. Can’t do that while casting.

Just play ele, you can go forward and back too, then!

When i play ele i like to make figure 8s

dang that’s sick. I was hitting 800 key presses a minute on algalon between a/d spam and mashing my keys since blizzard broke the spell queue window for warriors. never considered I could’ve been hitting some figure 8’s.

I do get where you’re coming from with this, but it’s an arbitrary line you’ve drawn where this much matters, but that much doesn’t. And it’s fine that different people will draw that line in different places… I do think it’s worthwhile though noting that it is an arbitrary and subjective preference.

The big point of this whole conversation seems to be on one extreme whether all specs should be equally viable at all content regardless of talent allocation, stat priority, etc. or simply that “I want feral to be a higher performing DPS spec in raiding content.”

The devs made the change in Wrath that made feral a reasonable selection for some of the playerbase who want to play it as an only PVE DPS spec. They shouldn’t have done that, but they did, and it sent a signal to some people who are now expecting more changes as a result.

For sure it’s more fun to play a spec that is performing well if that’s something you care about. Right now, if that is what you want and you’re playing feral solely for PVE DPS performance in raids, then you should probably just play something else.
