Killing Low Levels on War Mode

Won’t work, they don’t care.

People who gank low level players are there for the lulz they get from griefing. You could have zero rewards from killing anyone sub-120 and they’d still do it.

Personally the only time I’ll ever kill a lowbie is by accident if they stray into a BFA assault zone, they would be kinda asking for it though.

Of course the actual final answer is ALWAYS, turn off WM if you want to avoid ganking.

I wouldn’t doubt it. I post on the forums by a lot of names. Siveer, Anju, Volei, Vola, Volity, Volia, Verla, Kair, Kitali, Dfess. I am all those names lol

This “You must suffer, it’s the only option” attitude isn’t a healthy one. Bonuses aside, what if I want to actually pvp people my level when leveling?

They removed PvP servers to allow totally opt-in or opt-out modes. On some servers it is already hard enough to find people to fight in War Mode. The last thing we need is even more of an incentive for people to ignore War Mode or make it harder to complete CTAs without group finger and server hopping.

I personally think they need to further develop world PvP and offer world objectives like they had in BC (Halaa, towers in Hellfire/Terrokar). I also think when you opt into War Mode - players below level cap will be scaled in PvP combat (the code for this was made in WoD) so they stand a slight chance of fighting back. I don’t think a level 30 should kill a 120 easily but I don’t think they should die instantly either - make it so a very skilled level 30 could potentially scare a griefer with no real PvP skill away and a group of 30s could potentially kill a 120.

So as someone that doesn’t PVP. If I turn on WM, I would expect that there would be PVP going on.

Since the basketball analogy was brought in, let’s put it another way.

If I go to a part of town that is known to generally not be a safe place and I go there knowing that. If something bad happens, should I cry about it? Knowing fully well that I went there KNOWING that it wasn’t a safe place?

Common sense to me would say:

  1. Don’t go there knowing that it’s not safe for me
  2. Before going there, learn some self defense

Just my thoughts of course.

The OP was not saying that its unfair for low levels to be ganked w warmode on, its normal to be ganked.

He is saying that killing such a target should not yield as much reward, and maybe even invite a small penalty as he mentioned, a stacking 1% if you keep killing the same lowbie over and over. Or maybe a cosmetic penalty even.

Not really since you’re trying to relate a real life scenario where someone would have to use some mode of transportation to get to the other said gym, possibly pay a fee to get in? Maybe have to sign up on a sheet and wait to get in the game?

The things of reality are endless.

Whereas, in the game, you go to a rested area, you open your talent screen, you click the circle that is for WM below the pvp talents, then you are out of wm.

Much easier to just turn wm off

If or when we meet in game… I won’t attack you. Ill be nice.

I’ve been against warmode having PvE related bonuses from the start.

Has nothing to do with warmode itself, but rolling on a pvp server didn’t get you any bonuses, there’s no reason warmode should have PvE related bonuses.

PvP-related bonuses? Sure. But not PvE.

Go find people your level?

Oh, you’re right! Great Idea, I got right on that a- Oh, we all died because of level 120s showing up.

It’s a big open world…which makes this game amazing. If you want to be with your own level that’s what instanced pvp is for.

It’s a big open completely dead world where you see another character every 10 minutes, which makes this game awful.

The point is you have the option through bgs if you prefer only to pvp with people y our own level.
The big world of Warcraft allows people the freedom to travel…if you’re leveling you’re going to have to accept that other people of different levels can be where you are.

I like the thrill of the hunt. It’s fun when you are doing an assault in a contested area and it is filled with enemies but you still dive down, fear them, kill your objective as fast as possible and get away safely or at least mangle one before biting the dust.

Warmode is for people with free time, if you don’t have time or will to risk, turn it off, it’s pretty simple to solve your problem.

But…but…muh mogs!

This is the issue we have with. We don’t care if they are worth honor or not. No penalty should be put on a player at all for killing anyone.

I would like to edit your post here. BG’s no longer require people to be the same level. Anyone can group and sync down to do bg’s with level 10’s. It’s rough seeing DH’s in a lvl 10-19 bg lol.

Welcome to warmode.

But their level scales down? I wasn’t aware of this.
