Kicked for needing an Epic BoE while group is AFK

If edgemaster hands drop and I’m with randoms that didn’t do anything to earn it, you bet I’m needing on it, lol.

Honesty is king, you did all the work its yours

Otherwise decent folk know what need means and what greed means, ignore the toxic forum trolls that are trying to get you blacklisted

The big question is, why were you going ahead without the rest of the group?

Everyone is there for loot and XP, and you robbed the group of a bit of both.

Does it really matter who is right?
You did something that they were not happy with, so the run is going to be sour no matter what. They could kick you for clearing without them if they wanted to. They kinda in a way did both you and them a favor by kicking you, things could have gotten alot worse if you had stuck around.

Oh bugger off. It’s not some great privilege to be part of an instance group. That wasn’t the first and it won’t be his last.

Yes, this.

OP, your phrasing implicitly assumes that starting to clear right away was default behavior and the other two members of your group were in the wrong to wait for the last two. If you’d just stayed at the entrance with the others until your group was ready to start, you wouldn’t have “had to” kill anything there alone.

yes thats why people always kill all the trash in dungeons and dont just rush bosses

You’re all wrong.

For a start, it’s a pug, looting rules should have been discussed first.

Next is you should have only rolled need if it was an upgrade you were going to equip. Though you’re unclear here as to what intent your need roll had, but judging the theme of your post, I’d hazard a guess at it being you thinking it was your right because you felt you were responsible for it dropping and your desire was to AH the item.

Finally, you were there because of a group. A weird concept that many seem to have trouble grasping is that groups are about THE GROUP as a whole, not any one individual. You share you misfortunes as much as you do your luck, you share in the spoils of war or the repair bills for wiping. You can’t just throw that out the window when you feel the situation warrants it.

Them kicking you was a pretty poor move on their part as it could have been discussed and a manual /roll done to resolve the problem. That said if you’ve held the opinion you have expressed here, i’d probably have kicked and ignored you immediately too.

I agree with this. If I invite someone to a group, I don’t want them to forge ahead. Wait for the rest of the group.

If you need on epic BoE you should equip it right in front of everyone. That would be a fair rule. Same goes for blue BoEs.

I like how people are afk until an epic drops, then all of a sudden are magically teleported back to their computer chairs…

Quick. Without scrolling up. What was OP’s name?

Thanks for coming forth and letting us know you’re a ninja and to blacklist you from future events.

No, really.

Unless you 100% were clearing a dungeon by yourself and invited people to come along after and they were at the entrance and hadn’t done anything, you’re in the wrong imo.

I mean you openly admit you KNEW they greeded and so you saw it as a chance to just steal it and are trying to justify yourself now.

Epic boe are need every time.

OP is in the right. If you didn’t contribute then you don’t deserve the loot. It’s like being in a raid group and boe’s drop but you demand to be able to roll from outside the instance/raid. Sorry not sorry. Next time be there or be square.

They got mad because they were being selfish, self entitled children. You did the work and they didn’t. Anyone that says different probably believes in participation trophies.

Did you need it? If not, then you’re wrong. This moronic idea that streamers are spewing that everyone has to roll need on BoE epics is asinine. You roll greed unless you actually need the gear, in which you roll need. If you just don’t want it at all or don’t care, then you can pass. It’s quite simple, really.

You were right, they were wrong

End of story

If everyone is AFK and you can solo a few stray packs, that typically helps the group.

Nobody really lmao

You probably should’ve waited or checked to see if they cared that you weren’t, and they probably shouldn’t have expected to get loot they didn’t contribute anything to getting

But who cares, you got the epic and there will be other groups. Take your loot and move on, not really much to discuss here :woman_shrugging:

Rude selfish people like you are the reason online gaming sucks at times. The OP wouldn’t have been there at that time the epic dropped if they didn’t decide to participate in group content. The OP was impatient waiting for others, trying to show off clearing stuff. Common courtesy and behavior, at least what used to be common in online games would be to share in the spoils. I also am 100% positive that the OP was not acting innocently or politely during the interaction with the rest of the group. And I guarandamtee people like you and the OP are the first people to cry that you can’t get into a group.
