No. Early game dungeons are so easy that frankly you can just go with your DPS spec and offheal between pulls. 33% more damage is pretty huge, the goal is to complete the dungeon not pretend that it’s difficult.
Maybe not better, but outside of shields a lot of Disc healing is done by atonement which heals those with that buff based on damage done to mobs. In other words the more damage a disc priest does, the more healing they do.
I’ve gotten kicked a few times for fistweaving in leveling dungeons. They act like I’ve got something to prove? Yeah, it’s called helping the run along.

me idc i let the healer heal me. only time i really rely on my cd’s is when im super low and healer starting to struggle maybe cause of mechanics. other then that if i die then i die. healer full on mana but doesn’t heal me? then i stop dpsing. if healer lets me die and doesn’t res then i say something. i’ve been on both ends being a healer main prior years ago and now playing a class with no actual self heals excluding a neck tier skill tied to a 30s cd via blink which in turn is also a HoT.
majority of people i think are just scared to die. TRUST ISSUES you could say. they forget this is a video game. it’s all trial and error can’t always succeed if you never fail cause that will only take you so far.
They’re healing their enemies of the sickness that is their existence? There they are now healing the sick while killing their enemies.
When I heal it’s not uncommon for there to be moments when no one needs a heal, if I take that time to push as much DPS as I can then the dungeon goes faster for everyone. As long as no one is dieing the healer absolutely should be pushing DPS, and in Mythic+ healer DPS can be the difference between making and missing the timer so it’s best for people to learn how to weave DPS abilities into their healing while still leveling.
I’m just going to add my reply without reading this thread: at the top end of end-game M+ healers are actually expected to be doing damage at every moment there is no healing to be done. No idea why anyone would see this as a remove-from-group-able offense.
