EVERY system can be abused. Doesnt matter if blizzard wont take accountability for allowing it…the kick IS being abused when its targeting those who did nothing to DESERVE being kicked…period
Blizzard needs to amend their joke about this, state publicly that they DO NOT CONDONE MISUSE of the kick to VIOLATE the spirit of the Social Contract that ABSOLUTELY CONDEMNS abusing other players, but cannot deal with so many tickets for lack of proper manpower.
They do that and the kick abusers no longer have a scapegoat at the very least and have to take responsibillty for THEIR bad behavior.

Okay food thing came back at me, bad choice.
The vote to kick thing is not getting better, lots of threads, lots of unhappy players.
All that’s happening is arguing, less players pugging, it’s not going to just go away.
It needs to be addressed by Blizz, and not let the community fight over it, as that does nothing, just makes it worse.
This is acceptable according to Blizzard and you can’t even report it. My post is gonna get deleted for this but oh w/e.

The kick for any reason quote from a GM is basically a kick license to kick anybody at will. Only they can retract that license to kick at will.

its the same thing with law enforcement and the FBI who does crime stats.
We’ve been riding them for DECADES to add to police reports things such as if a weapon was used in self defense, etc…so we CAN compile data on it so we can compare to the crime data itself to know just how effective weapons are as both a deterent and possibly ended a crime in process.
ZIP…NADA…NOTHING…they REFUSE to allow the data to be taken lol.

Therefore all functions within the game are correct
Players can initate a vote-kick for any or no reason (even though… there is always a reason). The developers programmed this function into the game. Therefore it is working as intended
Nobody seems to mention how bad it would be if we couldn’t vote-kick
Yeah you can type in racial slurs and bypass the code of conduct and not get in trouble cause kick forms are not reportable.

There aren’t “lots of threads.” And some of them are by the same person. We’re talking about 50ish people on a forum of roughly 1% of the playerbase in a game of millions.
Again… Blizz has the data. They had it for the degenerate behavior of leaving after the first boss and implemented a penalty for it. They have it for kicks, as well— and haven’t made any changes.
This all tells me it’s not a systemic issue. No matter how much people want to scream at others and gaslight them (see: resident panda who keeps getting his posts deleted for it), there is no evidence of a systemic issue.
And inb4 resident panda or anyone else tries to claim more gaslighting… no, I do not instigate VTK on people unless they’ve been afk for a while and even that’s rare, because I’ll ask the group first. And I vote no on the odd reasons I don’t see happening to the rare circumstances where there’s a VTK.

The screen shot is evidence and can get the player in trouble trouble through a ticket, but agreed there should be some sort of report button since it breaks social contract rules.
Sorry, but people were VOCAL on the forums for people leaving Ara-Kara city of echos after the first boss. Pretty sure that had some influence on the changes to deserter. (Although they could just put all the boss loot at the end of the dungeon, like M+)
