Why not allow players to run whichever mythic dungeons they want, and put incentives in place to ensure that underplayed dungeons aren’t ignored. The lack of creativity is baffling.
Yeah but, isn’t every dungeon in some way or another in demand? I’d find it hard to believe people would just stop running a certain dungeon because they don’t need x y z item from there. Still run it for score, too.
I could see it happening I guess, the community would go full retard and only run VP/FH since that’s the quickest dungeon. I wouldn’t since I hate VP so… I’d pick another to run even if it meant being a little longer.
They changed the system in BFA…so we are a few years late to the conversation, and apparently, they have not decided on another solution since then. I’m not opposed to them changing the key system.
Why lie? At least make it new and interesting instead of the same old dead horse
Since the vault is the best gear you can get from M+, running the fastest/easiest keys possible to finish their 8 would definitely be what a lot of players do. M+ score is mostly irrelevant now besides the achievements.
The key lottery exists because if we didn’t have keys, people would just spam Freehold and Underrot at the exclusion of all other dungeons.
They still do that right now, of course, it’s just slightly less convenient to do.
Since you can’t change your key at the end of your OWN key, what if at the end if another key instead of “reroll” we get to pick the dungeon our key becomes. So that way you have incentive to run in someone else’s key group to change your own to a dungeon. But then after you complete that dungeon, you get another “random” key, so if you want to change it again, you’d again have to do someone else’s key to change yours again.
I’d be fine with people choosing their dungeon as long as it’s above a certain level. Perhaps a +22. That way, doing high keys involves less wasted time looking for the right keys that are doable.
I wouldn’t be fine with someone choosing what dungeon their key was at a +12. People would always choose the easiest dungeons, and if you needed to do something like a +12 Neltharus for your score, there would be a lot less +12 Neltharus keys in a world where people could choose a +12 Underrot instead.
should give like 1-3 charges per week to swap your key to a dungeon of your choice
bit more deterministic but less chance for degeneracy
I’m going to be frank here. If you can’t get into keys, you’re not progressing your gear or score enough.
I highly doubt it would be impossible.
Have you considered just not doing it?
I don’t do certain types of content in the game. But I’m also ok with their existence in the game. Not sure why you feel something needs to be removed because it frustrates you.
People don’t want to feel like their doing cutting edge progression in a +11 because the ppl in the group are inadequately geared or have no experience.
Hi fellow Druid!
Last season I started as a tank. Pretty easy to get key, became easier once I mastered healing down the line. Worth mastering more than one role in the nature of our class.
Keys at the start of subsequent seasons than the first usually start off with dumb expectations and become progressively better.
They just mean the keystone item itself. Not M+ as a whole.
I can sympathize though majority of the time I don’t run my key is because I don’t need anything from the dungeon. If I were able to choose I’d be leading groups way more.
You’re making assumptions about why you didn’t get invited.
Unless you messaged the key lister and questioned them and this is what they told you, You’re just assuming based on your own thoughts.
They should just let people select the difficulty at the entrance.
And yes, this would end key depletion, who cares, i don’t.
I would love to see some more agency in which key we have, or the entire concept of keys begone and just let us choose the dungeon we want to run.
if I want to run freehold 55 times in a row… let me. who cares?
if a dungeon sucks so bad no one will run it, that’s a design problem not a player problem.
just sucks to have your whole group end up with the same key because no one in the group needs/wants that dungeon.
They’re doing that now with the crests system.
Could always make it more like raiding and eliminate keys but lock you to running each dungeon once per week and no more.
Oh, and cut the amount of loot that drops in half to bring it on par with raiding, while we’re at it.
