Advantage to those who level slow. By the time the slugs (me included) hit 60, all the bugs should be worked out
I remember at original launch, there were a couple bugs that took around 3 months to fix. Major Rubber banding & some profession bugs that were annoying.
Item Stats are simply database entries. Debuff Slots is a code value (or possibly an initialization value). Both things exist in Retail (though Debuff Slots is now not limited)
The Key Ring is an auto-expanding ‘extra bag’ that has a limited set of specific items that can be put in it, that hasn’t existed in Retail since Cataclysm (I think).
I thought that might be the reason but I still think that the devs might be arbitrarily delaying the key ring which just seems strange given how everything else in Classic is 1.12.
That’s a good question. I would lean towards it being in at release since this is based off of 1.12, and the skills are from 1.12 too. But if it’s not in the beta then it probably won’t be in at the start and will get patched in…
Essentially this. The modern client from my quick glance of it utilizes the ever expanding keyring of old, as the “space” where we loot quest items. It’s simple to turn off and prevent quest items in classic from going into said bag. However selectively recreating the keyring to function as it did will take more time.
Not a dev but I would have left the current functionality of what I said about retail quest item “space” still “functional”, however only items that would have gone into the keyring traditionally are capable of being added to the key ring (quest items won’t use the space, but keys will be “treated” as “quest items”).
I am very happy to hear that it is going to come back. I had heard it was not going to be put in but I am glad that I was mistaken. Please pass on my thanks to the people working on Classic.
WoW Classic’s client will be updated periodically over time as changes are made to the retail client/server infrastructure as well. They’re not going to “maintain two MMO’s” and allowing Classic’s code to stagnate would cause exactly that.
So after they get done with their bug-fix patches to reach higher fidelity with 1.12 gameplay, don’t be surprised to see client updates for Classic to happen in close time-proximity with every major content patch for Retail.
If you go and look at the linked to discussion in the Beta forums, it was pointed out it was added in 1.11, as one of the people who posted in that thread. We decided it probably was a case of Blizzard deciding to consider it part of the progressive itemization and that we weren’t going to see it until Naxx went live.
