Moristro:
I know this has been discussed to death, but this weekend was awful and I’m going to give you my two cents.
You should be punished for not knowing the mechanics (because you’re too lazy to read up on them), or not getting lust/hero/drums on a tyrannical week (because you’re too lazy to pay attention to your group comp), or taking the very first tank/healer who queues despite him not having a clear of the dungeon that’s within even 5 levels of your key (because you’re too impatient to wait for someone competent).
You should not be punished for not knowing in advance whether the DPS you just grabbed owes their rating to a Macedonian carry farm, or is an Aussie using a VPN that will randomly drop them ten minutes in, or is the account owner’s kid taking dad’s toon for a spin.
Now, are those reasons more common than the other players simply being terrible? No. And am I an idiot for waiting until the very last weekend of the season to push? Yes.
Would getting rid of depletion have side effects, some of them possibly negative? Yes.
But Christ, losing your own key three times in a row (when you’re not the one causing the wipes) until you give up and log having made no progress that day (because none of the groups you picked were able to pull in and interrupt the adds during the intermission on Balakar Khan while doing enough DPS to kill them before stormwinds wipes the group) feels awful.
I did everything: spell lock, shadowfury, mortal coil, and finally spamming fear while trying to dodge swirlies, but just couldn’t get it. Over three hours (and thousands of gold) utterly and pointlessly wasted.
I bet if I was able to sit down and listen to how you were raised, by a 3rd party narrator with no dog in the fight, I wouldn’t be shocked in the slightest.
