Honestly depending on location in the country and how many in the household it’s floating in lower middle class.
Sad economy, let’s forget it and go back to rping about thwacking each other with swords and spells.
i live in MO. was a Correctional Officer in a prison, but now i work on the river. i get disability from the VA combined with my job puts me up there. MO avg is probably around 40k for middle class if I had to guess

Average housing prices in the state are apparently $250k, with rates hovering at 8% currently.
I’d say 40k wouldn’t be considered middle class, as generally home ownership is usually the standard for being middle class.

I was a CO myself for a whooping 60+ days and realized it wasn’t for me because I felt sorry for a few guys.
And thats a dangerous attitude to have in there so I stepped away

Once a upon a time, from 07-11, which always makes me giggle a little saying the years.
I always say it in a stereotypical voice that some would consider offensive, usually thin skinned children.
I worked in the Allred unit in Texas, we had a safe keeping unit there for inmates that were in the middle of transitioning.
No one warned me of that fact the first time I was sent in and did rounds for the first time.
I was like “is this a coed prison or something?” But I didn’t have much dangerous interactions or anything.
miserable experience. i did it for about a year for the prison. did active duty 0313 for 4 years, went reserve 0311 for a little bit, still in IRR because you can get your 50 points a year for a SAT year to retire. A little secret most devil dogs don’t know. it’s your normal retirement at 65 reserves tho
