Some covenant abilities are actually unique and interesting, or just aesthetically pleasing where it fails in balance, e.g. monk Night Fae.
I hope some of them go through, I personally really like adaptive swarm, monk night fae, kyrian warrior & night fae, etc… But things like Bonedust, weapons of order, condemn, Necro war, rogue NF kyrian & venth, hunter venth, so on so forth just shouldn’t be implemented because they clearly can’t balance things.
A lot of the power on alpha atm (I know they’ve done 0 tuning) seems to be removing a lot of the power from the actual covenant abilities they are keeping.
Example is convoke is getting nerfed from 16 → 12 spells and it also has no conduit for 35% more damage and isnt being reduced by 50%. Similar things are happening to slappy hands which reduces damage and length by a significant portion.
Oh I get that, but this is also blizzard, and we know they’re trigger happy on buffing things for no reason without nerfing the broken crap.
I’m just begging them to make night fae & venthyr for monks be the ones that transfer through than Weapons & Bonedust. Game needs less “Do more damage” abilities and more playstyles.
Also you know Convoke is 12 abilities right now right? Just double lege things.
I know that necro ferals and venthyr mm hunts are the majority, but in 2v2 its hard to survive against a kyrian hunt who uses their ability and u cannot los them. Convoke in 2’s without trinket and port is certain death. I don’t want to see these come back. Weirdly in 2’s I struggle against convoke ferals but not necrolord ones.
No since they focus on bleeds alot more, I spec into ‘counteract magic’ so everytime I dispel a dot my heals are increased by 30% all game vertually. It’s the only time I ever use counteract magic, but it helps my healing vs the feral dots by alot.
Yeah I mean healing through necro as MW doesn’t seem the worst, but you really shouldn’t be able to die to convoke though, you have every answer to it.
Adaptvie swarm feels so good in the feral toolkit. Very happy to see that moving forward.
Id also add Primodial Wave for ele and resto. For ele its fun, and is one of those abilities that can either skyrocket your damage or do basically nothing depending on how well you use it.
Yeah I was just thinkin goff the top of my head, there’s definently a lot of cool covenant abilities that should move forward, but I think the game needs to be pushed away from “Do more dam” stuff into more ramp up, or skillcapped abilities. I don’t want to press 1 button and suddenly I do 40% more damage or have a 5% chance to 100-0 you. Just not interesting
A druid can chose both swarm and convoke just like as a rogue you can have echoing repr because itbis part of the CLASS tree and then pick up sepsis as the SPEC tree.
We’re keeping some of the cov abilties yeah but all the modifiers like legendary and conduits are going away.
What they’re using as a deciding factor on what to keep is a mystery to me. Losing flayed shot but keeping death chakram seems a bit weird. Keeping spear but losing banner also weird. Wish i could say i was surprised by abom limb but honestly who would be?
