I get the name thing, maybe Blizz just needs to enforce that rule and actually take it seriously for RP servers.
Hi- I’ve played on RP realms for a long time - way before hardcore existed. Shout out to emerald dream in retail. Anyway - there was very little RP on RP realms. But I get your need- you want an RP only chat and to only chat with other RPers. Or you can maybe organize an RP chat. I don’t know the best solution because there are many different ways to RP. How mayn’t active role players are there in classic now?

As a former crusader of the RPPvP guild Warsong Battalion, I can say we definitely RPed every single night on ED.
community reporting might fix this, I know it works on Grob, tho I do play in an RP way no matter the realm I am on.

What I would like is to be able to roleplay with my friends anywhere in the world including capital cities without being told to kill myself or called slurs. BsB is a designated RP server and I’ve been there since it opened in 2019. If anyone wants to join in they are free to do so but we’re not forcing anyone to roleplay. Chats are not required to be in character and at this point with BsB’s population I’m not expecting that. The in game code of conduct states that you may not use language that could be offensive or vulgar to others. People can just ignore the roleplay but apparently that’s difficult to do when someone has to get in their daily requirement of trash speech.
Sharing the server was fine until more recent arrivals decided to drag the discourse to the gutter.
Oh there’s more than enough toxic to go around. Unfortunately.

I see your point, sorry you have had to experience such ignorant and uncaring people in your RP journey. Sounds like you are a lot of fun and keep up the RPing! Hopefully the hc server will give you your server back.

HC players are RP’ing as much if not more than regular players. What could be more strict roleplaying than deleting a character once it dies? You really think that isn’t roleplaying?

No one but HC players are on Bloodsail. The server was a ghost town before HC took off. If anything, non HC players should be thanking them for breathing life back into the server.

Since there are no non HC players on the server, I suspect you are just one of the many haters who are inexplicably angry at HC simply for existing.

Prior to the TBC pre-patch, hc players were on the server and they were fine. Respectful of roleplay and even playing along at times. I do see that a journey with only one life can certainly be an in-character action which is why my friends and guildies were encouraging of them and always tried to include them when tossing out drive-by buffs or a stun (thank you tidal charm!) if their mob was getting too enthusiastic while chasing that fellow player trying to escape.
After many left to move on to Outland, those of us choosing to stay continued to peacefully coexist with the hc folk. Until more content creators got wind of it and decided to jump on the bandwagon. A lot of the very vocal players on this forum insisting that our experience on BsB is untrue/invalid/lies are a part of that wave. There are roleplayers and non-hc still on BsB and we certainly would like to peacefully coexist. Sharing our roleplay server is fine. All we are asking is if you cannot respect roleplay or non-hc play please just ignore it and continue on your own journey. I offer you the same.

Yes we should all be thankful the toxic streamer crowd Faerlina 2.0 flooded a RP realm “breathing life” and doing the bare minimum “1 life” and considering that all it takes to abide by the RP rule set.
You ever stop and think maybe the thousands of “hardcore” haters aren’t wrong, but maybe it really is you that’s wrong?
Hundreds of you are late to the party and now it’s all FOMO. You’d go to any realm for this because you’re a follower.

Nope. The people complaining haven’t even played it, they just get annoyed that they have to scroll their middle mouse button slightly longer to pass through threads that do not interest them.
As for the server, I have not seen a single RP player. Not one guild recruitment, not one hint that there is any non hardcore roleplayers on the server at all. No one at the AH, no one at the mailboxes.
I could go on a long rant about how Blizzard killed the classic servers with the way they transitioned to TBC, but regardless they were killed. The RP realm was no exception it was DEAD. Now the only roleplaying going on is the hardcore playerbase.
Very small numbers but we were and are there.
