It only says there was mention of something being built by Elven druids in WC2 doesn’t seem they actually show up in the game though the whole shapeshifting Druid thing in W3 and WoW seems to be mostly inspired by Diablo.
No one tell him where talent trees or quest bubbles came from.
Cross promotion is fine but I ain’t buying D4, the prices are a tad insane and the stuff they chose to do with D4 … no thanks.
But cross promotion stuff is I think healthy.
I just don’t think a mount I can use in WoW would be a big enough selling point.

No, it is inspired by Celtic/Irish Mythology and years of RPG’s that also included a druid race (i.e. Dungeons and Dragons ~1978). Druids were not a new thing, and Blizzard certainly weren’t the originators of nature loving shape shifting elves.

There is no keeping Diablo out of WoW.
I’d love a crossover event where we get to take our toons through some of the new D4 dungeons.
Diablo 4 was pretty cool in closed Beta, lotta folks here would likely enjoy it.
This has been a thing since the Diablo pet was in the game, Tyrael’s Charger is a thing. I also have a Baal pet and the Cerberus mount is really cool. Plus Mythic+ came from Diablo rifts. It’s already been engrained.
Purest of something that never was.

You know the blizzard worlds are all one universe right? been that way since starcraft.
I know Diablo didn’t literally invent the concept of druids but the whole shapeshifting nature mage flavor of druid is something I’ve only really seen from Diablo then WoW maybe they got it from somewhere else but I’m not aware of it just seems particularly specific to their company.
That ship sailed a long long LONG time ago buddy.
So the concept of druids as we know them existed before even Blizzard made the first Warcraft game - Blizzard puts them into WCII lore, but because Diablo II had the first playable druids (for Blizzard at least), Warcraft got druids from Diablo? Is this your argument?

Well historical celtic druids aren’t anything like Diablo/Warcraft druids they’re complete product of fiction having little in common with their namesake so yeah call me crazy to think there was some cross pollination between the games with this specific flavor of fantasy druids.
Well, yeah, but then you would have to ignore the whole Druid class in Dungeons and Dragons (shape shifting nature loving casters) that had been around for 15-20+ years BEFORE Warcraft or Diablo - and that’s just one RPG (probably the biggest, but still)

Druids were in Warcraft 2? well that’s news to me. Warcraft 2 was my favourite RTS for years, but I Don’t remember seeing any druids.

A little late for that considering we got Tyral’s Charger years and years ago for Diablo III and then the Diablo Anniversary event where we had a whole quest-line that rewarded us with a hearthstone toy and musical toy.
Need more Diablo in WoW imo.
Was very disappointed we didn’t get the Diablo Angel wings for mog.

Ehhhhhhhh, Both WoW and Diablo druids have some thematic ties to dnd druids but they’re much closer to each other than they are to druids in dnd, at least druids as they existed in dnd prior to 2001.
