Over and Over and Over and guess what Over again I tried and succeeded On them I’m heading back to Ashenvale now to try the reverse gold and advanced gold wish me luck it took youtubing over and over again for help lol
it’s an expansion feature.
they’re going to be on rotation, at the very least, until the end of the expansion.
there is a blue post saying that the races will go to different continents and work its way back to Kalimdor to start the cycle again , no need to worry if you do not get everything the first time.
That’s probably intentional.
i doubt there are many people who would want the stuff, yet only have one character available to them.
It was refering to the guy above me, but this mobile chat is sh*t, he said it was annoying get gold on the cup, mostly races I got gold on first try, and some even with 10 secs spare, so yeah, is a “get gud” factor, of you don’t want to wait, use an alt, if don’t want to use an alt, wait…
“Get gud” is such an obnoxious saying, and really tells me a lot about the person saying it. Never mind the myriad possible circumstances existing in which some people just aren’t as good at dragonracing as others and might have trouble with some of the more demanding races. If you can, good for you. But no need to be a jerk to those who can’t.
Anyway. The points remain:
-
Even if you earn gold in every single race, you can’t buy all the rewards.
-
The reward structure is such that it’s not worth it to spend the time and effort to achieve gold in some races anyway. Not when you can use an alt instead, if you don’t care about achievements.
-
The rewards are there to be earned, so why can’t we earn them on one character? If Blizzard wanted to gatekeep the rewards, they wouldn’t make it possible/necessary to use alts. (See: the Trading Post for an example of account-wide currency-based gatekeeping in action…)
-
We don’t know what future versions of the Cup will bring. More dragon customizations? More transmog recolors? Maybe every different Cup will have different rewards associated with it. (See: Timewalking for rotating event-specific rewards with a shared currency)
Optimal solutions:
-
Restructure currency so harder challenges reward a more appropriate amount. If you put in the time and effort to get perfect runs (i.e. ‘git gud’) why not earn more for your trouble?
-
Make it possible for one character to earn everything so we don’t have to go through it with alts as well. A better payout as listed above would probably fix that. We’re still free to run through on alts to farm badges, of course…
-
(alternative) Make the currency account-bound so we can consolidate badges. (Not as much a priority, but it would be handy for characters with uneven amounts…)
Of course, right now we don’t know if future Cups will have more cosmetic rewards to purchase–I can just see some diehards running through these races with tons of alts just to stockpile badges in anticipation of future rewards… because gamers gonna game.
Still a dumb thing to say considering i got gold on all the races…
I’ve managed to complete it all and there are still around 6 pieces that I don’t have the badges to buy them. Bought the drakes parts and 2 gear pieces and that was it. So, once the Kalimdor’s cup is over I think they will drop the Eastern Kingdoms cup. Otherwise it doesn’t make any sense to not be able to get all the badges needed to buy everything if it’s a one time event.
Being able to send extra badges to alts would be better – I did read that the currency will carry over, but in the meantime I have an alt with 11 badges just sitting there (and I did run all the races on him).
Aren’t there going to be four or more different cups that all give the same badges?
I’ve just been using alts. Eight alts to get the riding gear transmog was easy. Using the Cata portals to get around helped quite a bit too!
I used the intro quest on my alts and obtained a piece of the transmog set for each. Today, I did each of the remaining races and obtained two of the dragon riding customizations. Just 50 more badges to go on an alt next week.
Yea thats why i did a few and gave up , mog aint really that hot anyway
100% agree with OP.
This is seriously dumb… likely a Blizzard effort of “if we string them along with stuff they need to buy NEXT time the cut comes around, they’ll stay subbed longer to get it all because of FOMO!”
Honestly, it’s just plain silly. Just let us farm the dang coins all on one toon, OR make the total cost be the amount we can earn from completing everything on gold for the cup!
We earned the freaking rewards for this cup, so why make us jump though… er, fly through?.. extra hoops to get them?!
If you got gold on all the races, good for you, me either, but if you are in the hurry for all the rewards you can do 1/2 of the races again and get them on an alt, or you can do as me and just wait for next cup
Tell me, what’s de difference on farming in 2 chars than farming in just 1? The races doesn’t change on different characters, they do not change by time, so if you are complaining that much just get an alt and do it.
FFS, stop complaining about everything, they deliver something cool and entertaining and you guys only know how to complain. What are wrong with you people?
You’re the one whose entire five posts have been of the “git gud” variety in this thread while demanding we bow down and thank Blizzard for delivering content we pay them for. I mean, how DARE we have opinions about something, and suggestions on how it might be improved.
Maybe the real question is… what’s wrong with YOU?
You pay for but sometimes they deliver crap content, or already forgot BfA and SL? They are finally starting doing some enjoyable content, with minimal grind. If you are in a hurry to get everything you got an option. If not you can just wait for next cup that is already known that will exist. Tbh yeah most of ppl are just cry babies, need to grown up and “get gud”, that was my first comment, because the person said that they are difficult to farm. And those cups are ridiculously easy, the one I had to repeat most was 3 times, and never had got a gold on races before.
