Hey Floodgate fam,
We need to talk about what just happened to Bubbles.
Yes, that Bubbles.
The big, lovable fish with the dopey eyes and majestic flop.
The one we were forced to kill last season, against our will, while whispering “I’m so sorry” and ugly crying into our keyboards.
Well, this season… he’s back.
And you’d think that maybe—just maybe—he’d get a second chance. A peaceful pond? A redemption arc? Maybe just a break?
Nope.
He gets violently murked by an NPC. Mid-gameplay.
No cutscene. No heroic music. Just straight-up fish-murder.
Honestly, it felt personal.
There’s no choice. No buildup. No respect. Just blam, Bubbles is gone again—this time not by our hand, but by some random goon with a vendetta against joy.
Why does this matter?
Because Bubbles was the heart of Floodgate.
He didn’t fight. He didn’t scheme. He just swam, blissfully unaware, and maybe that’s why we loved him. In a game full of chaos and moral gray areas, he was a rare thing: pure.
And the devs just… flushed him. Again.
So we made a petition.
We’re asking the devs to:
- Give Bubbles the peaceful life he deserves (fish spa? koi pond? a small castle with bubbles inside?)
- Stop turning emotional damage into a gameplay feature
- Maybe let us pet him next time instead of watch him explode??
