I don’t know I enjoyed leveling a lot more prior to the changes. Either way, I think scaling problems is one of the reasons lower level characters can’t queue for TW anymore.
Seems to me an easier solution would have been (as they have done by invalidating legacy set bonuses), just disallow covenant abilities until any character is playing at level 50 or beyond.
You know that’s the one thing that gets me too. As long as your the appropriate level I don’t understand why they did that with TW.
As for scaling alone. The problem really isn’t the level scaling. In current content the problem is ilvl scaling. In current content we have to out gear leveling mobs. What?!?
I feel like one of the reasons it is intentional is to slow people down doing Legacy content.
I stopped at 49. The only snag I have is that Chromie won’t talk to me to switch expansions (or move in and out of Chromie time) unless I am quick on abandoning the SL quest they push and initiating the conversation.
lol, you start Shadowlands and then expect to go back and do Chromie time. Blizzard literally can’t adjust the game enough to allow everyone the option to do whatever wacked thing they want.
I would never have thought I could go back and do Chromie time after doing the Maw intro and selecting a covenant. You literally moved past the leveling experience into the new expansion content.
While I’ll say that would be a completely dumb reason, I’ll also say, that’s probably why you’re right. Blizzard loves to do things that make the players say “Wait, what?”
It’s possible! Could also be the “you’re starting SL content” pop-up box before you go see Bolvar!
This should have been fixed. I didn’t have this issue leveling alt recently. You can accept the quest, but doing it would disable Chromie Time. This is my guess of what happened to OP.
Some people take RP way, way too seriously.
I wish you could lock xp and do Chromie-time at 50. Then premade group with like minded folks and run heroic dungeons and raids.
Expand Chromie time to 60 and let level capped people play everything!
If you think this is RP gone too far, then you’ve never seen exactly how much worse people go…
You could just park it, you might want to use it again one day.
Also a good idea. Don’t forget to buy those hats from the vendor there which you can keep in your bag and use when you are questing, for the extra experience and rep.
I actually levelled my lone Vulpera hunter up to cap doing it differently - I didn’t actually pick a CTime, I just went out into zones I’d never fully completed the questing in, and did those. Along the way I tamed the various named rares that are found in each zone, just for a bit of special hunter lore…sort of thought of him as the hunter who went after the special beasts in the world. It was fun.
Towards the end I did pick WoD because I wanted to open the garrison but I think enjoyed the earlier questing more.
I hear you my friend.
I keep hats in my bag in case of dungeon deaths. I got to DMF to use the merry-go-round. =)
Yes you can do that but it can be a bit tedious going back and forth there every hour. The hats are a good filler for when you can’t or don’t want to do that.
Remove bonus XP from war mode. That is my suggestion. Make it so only people who want to PvP are enabling war mode. Give them PvP gear for doing it, or whatever.
But if you keep coming back and saying “People are leveling in war mode and don’t want to even think about anyone attacking them, so you can’t have this!” then I’m still going to say: war mode should never dictate PvE. Ever.
