If your guild is running GDKPs as a main raid, then not sure what to say other then probably look for a better guild, and one thats more progression focused where you can be more of a core raider. Few if any real progression guilds will run GDKPs outside of Alt raids, as their main focus is to gear out their own raid team. While they eventually might run some GDKP raids, those raids would generally focus on alt raids typically in outdated content.
What makes GDKP raids effective is where you have at least 50-60% of the raid that can carry people, its also why they tend to be prevalent in outdated content, but relatively uncommon in progression, these early raids will be a mix, even if you do do a GDKP the only items that even might have value would be the epic ones, there just isnât that many spots in a 10m so most classes will have few if anyone bidding against them, and on the off chance you joined a raid that did have people competing, take the gold.
Also while you want to paint everyone who joins a GDKP as a gold buyer, the fact is itâs very easy to make gold in wow, especially in SOD where a lot of people are doing all their quests for extra gold, and who I suspect might find the lack of quests at 26 challenging. Honestly, of all the raids I have seen posted for BFD, practically none are GDKP.
Right âŚso you maybe get a handful of greens solo farming for 6+ hours (most of which will not sell for more than 50s) and likely donât see a blue until you reach 20+ hours.
Most greens also donât sell on first list. So factor in the cost of relisting items as well.
Youâre talking an almost negligible amount of gold.

it does not matter to me how effective self-centered players think gdkp raids are, because I am not playing solely for the purpose of gearing up a character, but to enjoy the raid with other players that I am friends with or want to get to know.
Thats what we do in gdkps too.

I find doing summons to be a lot of fun. I hangout with my friends in discord and get drunk goofing around and I meet a ton of really interesting people. Plus I charge a good bit less than the norm so everywhere I go people are super talkative with me and often go out of their way to help me with things if I need.
It can be a little tedious if you donât find a way to enjoy the time doing it or if you are only focused on making gold.
But I do get why for some it would be a bleak way to play the game. Itâs just not for me. It honestly was the best thing that I have done in game to make friends and meet people.
Having said that, I donât think for a second that anyone who put in the time and effort to make that much gold would blow that much on a staff at level 25.
