It feels terrible now. Last time I played it was dragonflight, and it was an absolute monster, just couldn’t stay alive in higher keys. It feels like trash now, specifically because of whatever they did to rework how barbed shot cd works or something. We used to get 2 charges for pressing bestial wrath, and I don’t recall that being a hard talent to use. Now we don’t have the points to really even get the one stack with bestial wrath. I’d have to drop a point somewhere to get that or the cobra shot barbed shot cd.
Is it just because I don’t have tier yet or what? Please tell me I’m missing something
I only remember Barbed Shot reducing the CD on BW, not the other way. Barbed Shot gives two charges to start with. Then there’s Wild Call that gives a 20% chance to reset the cooldown of Barbed Shot for your auto shot crits.
There’s little that feels changed since Df. We have Explosive Shot, and if you use PL then it’s just like nothing been done.
no, so casting bestial wrath used to give us two charges of barbed shot. it didnt effect the cd, it just gave us charges. now you have to talent into it and you only get one charge when you cast bestial wrath, but you cant really afford to take it. so now we are going to have to cast cobra shot again, which sucks

More crit is more barbed shot procs.
Should read the guides, we hardly touch cobra shot, it’s literally the lowest priority button you press after everything else is on cd, barbed shot management becomes really easy with better gear. Scent of blood isn’t needed at all and I’d rather see it replaced with a powerful talent. And next month we’re getting a tier set that literally auto fires barbed shots like crazy, our Bestial Wrath uptime is like at 80%, it’s actually insanely broken.
That’s a talent in the second to the last row of the Beast Mastery talent tree called Scent of Blood. I’m pretty sure there was the same or equivalent talent in Dragonflight.
Watch as our tier gets nerfed days after release.

Don’t know much more they can nerf it. They already reduced the uptime of Bestial Wrath by nerfing the duration of mutagen. The tier just has insane synergy with the new Pack Leader talents.
this sounds very nice. yeah, it was my gear. hit 80 and hadnt replaced anything, so i had giga low haste and crit. got up to 600 and the problem is mostly solved. and im also back to not hardly ever having to press cobra shot

bm hunters are not allowed to be on top for more than a day. It’s a rule.
What I will say is that hunters are now so much more tanky than in dragonflight. have two charges of SotF feels so good, more if you’re playing DR.
