I get why people are giving the OP a hard time, but you guys can’t be serious actually defending this “quest.” Random drop timegated widgets? It’s so lazy that I’m pretty sure an intern came up with it.

Apologies for not seeing the other replies first. Did you even read the second part where I agreed with you, or are you just going to be bitter and snarky to everyone?
It is a quest. I’m not sure I understand. It’s a stupid and pointless quest that just time gates us from something we paid for… but it is a quest.
As I said earlier:

I figured it was a good way to yank everyone’s crank so I emailed the idea to blizzard and they loved it
I am not sure I saw anyone defend the quest. Only people saying it was easy to find out about, and it doesn’t take long to do.
It’s a quest that leads to a long grind. Reading the promotional material does not give anyone any reason to think it’s anything more than “Hi, here’s the thing you asked for”.

It took me two weeks, because I work and don’t play every day. And that’s not counting the week I spent with the quest bugged and not getting any drops at all.

I honestly think that when you preorder, Bliz should not only give you all the content in the xpac without questing or grinding, it should complete all the endgame for all your toons, give you all rewards, all achievements, all transmogs, all everything - automatically, before you even log in! After all - you paid for it, no? Why should you have to play (or do really anything else) to get it?

Actually you just looked at the picture and didn’t think. That is on you. It is on you to be an informed consumer. The version doesn’t mention just being granted the apperance. It doesn’t mention it at all

That’s why I looked at the pre order and kept my money. You decided it was worth it when you have them your money.

mmk thats a bit hyperbole and not the point at all… this is quite literally the very definition of a time gate for absolutely no reason at all, this is not an engaging story driven quest.

funny enough i didnt even buy it for the armor, it was a bonus the quest just ended up p!ssing me off enough to rage about it.

oh man you got me… boy oh boy yes you did…
The item was a joke to get. Don’t grind for it. Accept the quest, go do an assault or two, and just play WoW reguarally. it’s like the darkmoon quest. You can grind for it, but if you play the game/do other things it completes on its own.
