Classic: Duskwood
TBC: Zangarmarsh
WotLK: Grizzly Hills
Cata: Deepholm (first time through)
MoP: Valley of the Four Winds
WoD: Shadowmoon Valley
Legion: Stormheim
BfA: Drustvar
Shadowlands: Revendreth
I didn’t choose Stormsong for my list, but I do love its design as well.
I’ve rebelled against the rules and chose one zone per expansion that I consider the best in terms of overall enjoyment and then the one zone per expansion with my favorite visuals for that expansion. And, I also cheated and threw in my favorite overall and favorite visual design for 3 types of instances.
Expansion | Favorite Zone | Prettiest Zone |
---|---|---|
Vanilla | Redridge Mountains | Moonglade |
TBC | Nagrand | Zangarmarsh |
WotLK | Grizzly Hills | Crystalsong Forest |
Cataclysm | Tol Barad | Tol Barad |
MoP | Valley of the Four Winds | Jade Forest |
WoD | Ashran | Nagrand |
Legion | Val'sharah | Highmountain |
BFA | Drustvar | Zuldazar |
SL | Bastion | Ardenweald |
_____ | _____ | _____ |
Dungeon | BRD | Waycrest Manor |
Raid | AQ40 | Nighthold |
Battleground | Ashran (WoD version) | Battle for Gilneas |
This came up too. The question was which Argus zone though, because there were three. In our case, we decided Macaree was probably the best feeling, where you’re wandering through an ancient civilization that’s been invaded by the Legion.
(Hate it all you want, but Mac’aree is a better name than Eredath.)
True but I’m going with all three. They feel like the same place to me.
I honestly liked how the Kokruun and Antoran Wastes flow, and play into the destruction of the planet. ABT was perfectly placed, and all of Argus felt like it would be an expansion itself by today’s standard. Really well done content patch.
