OH NO NO NO NO! What is this ridiculous notion of the Horde being compensated in return? Don’t you know that the Alliance deserves everything at the Horde’s expense? Because reparations for #HordeBias and Corpse Grinder saying mean things about a fictional faction a decade ago!
Okay but you have to make humans neutral too.
We get to help gnomes in 8.1 maybe theyll make gnome a neutral race? We also help the Cenarion Circle alot, maybe Night Elves and Tauren will be neutral races as well? Cant forget them too. Surely because we have aided them before means that they should be an option for out faction…
Blizzard has said they regret making Pandaren(a race that isn’t even played all that much) a neutral race. I can’t imagine them ever doing so again, especially not with one of the most popular playable races. And you don’t speak for anyone but yourself.
Hey there bud she speaks for me, so get your facts straight.
OP’s original post is so ridiculous I believe it should be reported for trolling.
I didn’t break any forum rule. I also just repeated what Ion said in one of the Q&A’s.
Any chance of them being neutral went away when Jaina purged Dalaran so it doesn’t make sense story wise, especially since she’s now a major figure in the Alliance. Game play wise it would cheapen everything Blizzard has done to set them up as a major Horde race. Also since the horde would lose an exclusive race the Alliance would too & I’m pretty sure no one wants to give blizz an excuse to force another type of Elf on us.
Lastly, there are I think 8 types of Elves in this game, probably double if you count the elf adjacent races (Wretched, Naga, Mailbox & Fel Blood elves, etc.) & I’d much rather see them add a new playable race than give us blue eyed blood elves with different colored armor.
Hmmm, uhm no
Didn’t Blizz admit that they regretted making the Pandaren a neutral race? I’m sure if that is the case making anything in the future neutral is slim to none and slim has left the building.
You’re the only one that is trolling
I would love for blood elves and dreani to be neutral, just tweak a bit of the starting quest, or just have it at the end of the starting zone you get the choice go to the warchief or the king.
The concept sounds interesting, also I love the idea of Tuskarr becoming a playable race, it’s something I’ve been wanting since WotLK.
That said I honestly don’t want the game to turn into 60% Blood elf/High elf and 40% remaining faction choices. You can already see the incredible race disparity on the Horde side with greater than 33% being Blood Elf, when an equal distribution (not taking in account Allied races) should be ~14% per race. (The only race to achieve expected value is Orc, all remainder are sub 14%)
I assume a similar population distribution would affect Alliance as well after significant enough time. I don’t believe it would be as severe due to the opposing races available for Alliance, nor based on the lateness of the introduction into the game (14 years of people putting time into a main) as I believe people are loathe to use paid services outside of WoWtoken transactions.
Still too many of almost the exact same race in my opinion. It would be the same if Pandaren were super popular and all you saw was Pandas on both sides, but fortunately they are not and still form a minority when combined.
Really nice idea, i can get behind this. +1
Indifferent on b/e mostly but i think 12 years of precedent will be hard to break.
Just give me the Tuskarr.
King Anasterian leaves the alliance
Prince Kael’thas despises the alliance
The lord regent Lor’themar decides to ally with the horde (and despises the alliance)
I do not see why it should be a neutral race, much less belong to the alliance. High elves have already made a decision in the past and ratified it when they joined the horde.
so why don’t you play horde if want blood elf? is something wrong with the horde? Most are nice people. I have yet had a bad experience with them. alliance I had tons of drama.
I don’t play Blood Elves because I know the Alliance side better than the Horde side, the transmogrifer is easier to get to at low levels, etc. If Void Elves could look exactly like Blood Elves with white skin and normal hair, I would mostly be happy. Still don’t have the rep to get them, don’t plan to.
It may be superficial to say you want a race to look a certain way, but that is true of any preference. Ion and his pals did not have to make Void Elves purple or give them tentacle hair. They should have at least given people customization options to look exactly like BLood ELves, that would have made just about everybody happy.

One of the most questionable things they’ve done, in my opinion, is have Void Elves be Blood Elves. It muddies Blood Elves and why they even joined the Horde, in my opinion. That said, no, no more neutrals. Blood Elves are not neutral. The closest they came to being neutral was MoP, but Jaina jacked up the peace talks.
