Just make outlaw a tank spec please

I’m struggling to enjoy Outlaw rogue, like at all. The crackshot gameplay is probably one of the worst gameplay loops I’ve seen in this game and makes outlaw feel like a Sub rogue lite where they’re trying to go into stealth to then come out and burst finishers.

Praying to the RNG gods you get the roll the bones buff which grants extra crit to BTE is just not a fun thing. RNG can be good, but just not like this.

Not to mention that outlaw still kind of misses the mark on feeling like a pirate IMO.

Playing SoD, I quite like rogue tank. It’s a pretty fun thing. I’d love to see it in retail, because it would be more fleshed out vs just bolted onto the existing class in the form of runes.

IMO outlaw just misses the mark and isn’t fun to play. I like the idea of it, but the execution is just bad. I’d love to see it just made as a tank spec.

Edit: Seems like I’m in a minority with this suggestion. But I think most of us can probably agree that Outlaw isn’t in a good spot and could use some major changes.

No.

That’s nonsense. Stop trying to do some end run around the issue by saying “the spec is bad” when you really just want a rogue tank.

Outlaw is actually doing fairly well, and while it needs some improvements, it’s not just flat out “bad”.

Just because you don’t like the spec is no reason to convert it to another role entirely.

The spec has had glaring issues with it since it’s inception in Legion. If they’ve been unable to fix the many issues that people have complained about by now, then why are we still continuing with this experiment?

Just search the term “Outlaw” in the rogue forums and you’ll find many examples of complaints about the spec.

If they ever want to be serious about actually fixing the spec and making it on par with sin or sub, then sure, keep it a DPS. But if they can’t figure out how to make it work as is, then try something different. There’s already a tank shortage so a new tank spec on a class that’s never had one could help with that.

Outlaw honestly feels like it’s a glorified hero talent tree atp.

Rogues have never been tanks except recently in SoD which is just an giant ball of weirdness.

Shaman actually were tanks (kinda) at one point, carry shields TO THIS DAY and, until recently, had threat generating abilities.

If any class that isn’t a tank should get a tank spec, it’s Shaman. Just because Rogues got some weird stuff in SoD doesn’t mean they should import it into Retail.

That’s actually incorrect. Rogues did have a period where they could tank in TBC prior to the addition of dodge and parry diminishing returns in WoTLK.

There’s a whole Wiki page about it on WoWWiki. Just search up “Rogue as tanks.”

And I’m not arguing that Shaman or other classes shouldn’t get tank specs. I think adding more tank specs to classes that don’t have them is a good way to help tank shortages. Some people are REALLY attached to their main class.

A rouge tank also does make some sort of thematic sense. You tease and taunt your opponent to make them attack you and then you just use your heightened reflexes to dodge and parry their attacks.

The point is, it’s clear Outlaw is in need of help. Making it a tank spec is a suggestion in an attempt to try and help it.
I’m all for them continuing it as a DPS spec if they will just simply tackle some of the issues with the spec that people have been complaining about.

That is horrible. End.

I’d support a better “solution”, but not this one.

I’d even consider a tank spec for Rogues AFTER Shaman get one, but not by converting Outlaw into one.

I know about this era, I was there. They weren’t tanks, nor were they intended to be tanks, they just happened to be “tanky” because of the weird way those stats worked at the time. Shaman were actually considered to be tanks at one point, but they never got it worked out and dropped the idea.

Rogues weren’t MEANT to be tanks, it just worked out that they could cheese into it.

Make it a pistol slinger range class.

We have a melee hunter. We should have a range rogue.

Wtf is this suggestion?

They can’t even get it correct right now. What do you think is going to happen when they try to make it a tank? They’d break 14 more abilities and probably ignore it for another year.

Tanks as rogue…
Accidentally clicks vanish…

Oops!

Seriously though, no.

Really like this idea actually.

Would pair well with adding some 1H ranged weapons like pistols or Hand Crossbows.
Even without a new weapon type it would still be awesome with just the weapons Outlaw pulls out of nowhere already.
