Just learned that the WA nerf includes cooldown tracking HUDs

I dont think you understand even how addons work …

The talent trees for classes are available. You don’t need to be a streamer to look at them and give feedback. And if there were 50 threads saying something, seems like they might want to take it into consideration.

Ion doesn’t have a coherent development philosophy. How does someone go from being the guy who DEMANDED Shadowlands covenants, something that created multiple playstyles 95 percent of players would never see due to being locked down to one covenant and potentially one ROLE due to covenant energy etc, GO TO a complete gutting and simplification of every spec in the game AND every combat addon being thrown into the thresher? What is the throughline here?

People will hate Midnight more than any other expac, the openly weeping, blood curdlingly angry posts will rain down for years just like they did during SL. And once again, the headlining feature of wow will be problems the devs completely did to themselves being partially fixed. EPIC!

He’s always looking for somebody to blame. That’s the throughline.

When he gets asked “why is the playerbase shrinking?” he needs to point fingers.

And the suits are too stupid to know whether what he’s saying makes any sense or not.

So when Ion says, “we’re losing players because of addons”, and the suits say “well why aren’t you getting rid of these addons?” - guess what happens next.

The actual reason is “because my team are terrible at their jobs and have served up one steaming turd of an expansion after another” but of course he’s not going to tell them that.

dude then just quit this game now. you’re screaming about changes that are only now in alpha stage while, as others say, blizzard is basically begging for mountains of feedback.

he never said that he said theres a lot of dumdums asking for it …

They beg for feedback then ignore it. They did it in BfA, they did it in Shadowlands, they did it in Dragonflight, they did it in TWW.

to be fair, a lot of people are incapable of thinking for themselves, and will blindly parrot whatever opinion (insert random streamer name here) tells them is gospel.

kind of feels like it’s going to put a whole lot of time back into the hands of the folks who are bombarded with bug reports and nasty messages, due to issues with third party addons.

If you think they are changing course, go read that Approachability for Combat article they posted, and also consider how much of a big swing this is (destroying addons and not having the capability due to incompetence/poor planning to create proper timers/trackers/UI internally means they have to nuke classes basically, meaning this is something they are hard committed to). This cannot be walked back. If it is walked back, it will be a Shadowlands style walkback but will take YEARS to ever come back from. I’ll see what Midnight patch 1 offers but ya I htink a ton of us are quitting this game, as it’s been withering on the vine for quite a while frankly.

lol one of my favorite things each and every expansion has been the “I QUIT!!!” threat that never ends up happening. most of the people who do end up quitting don’t scream on a forum that they’re quitting, they just quit

No offense but I can’t imagine how you are bombarded by bug reports. Fans have made it so easy to not have that happen ever that you have to be willingly negligent to have longterm issues but I guess WoW is now catering to the lowest common denominator across the board.

every patch is a potential risk to break addons.
people refuse to do UI resets, and scream about “bugs”.

You’ll still be able to customize how it looks. You just won’t be able to tie logic to it. I see this as an absolute win. At worst, it’s a very small price to pay for more realistic gameplay expectations.

Yeah and if they put this stuff in alpha that means they intend to release it, these things don’t just accidentally get implemented. The time to raise a stink is right now, as big as possible.

Also, lest we forget, these are the devs who were TOO INCOMPETENT TO PUT COORDINATES ON THEIR NEWLY DESIGNED MAP. Y’know, the main reason anyone used map addons in the first place.

They’re going to kill the game. They’re basically nuking all healer addons too. There is going to be a mass exodus of healers, we could be looking at a WOD no flying scenario again. I haven’t prepurchased Midnight, whether I continue to play or not depends on Vuhdo. If Vuhdo doesn’t continue, I’m unsubbing on prepatch day and I’ll find something more worth my time.

I wonder if my WAs that make a button glow when it’s no longer on cooldown will be affected.

i like it. good times to play the game.

Blizzard has no control over vudhu.

I’ll be fine as long as Blizz allows addons to customize the CD Manager info.

The addon makers I follow seem to think that will be the case.

i’m available if they want to give me alpha access. it’s kind of inevitable that if lots of streamers get alpha access and lots of ‘regular’ players don’t, we’re going to rely on the streams
